Hello With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hello again! Welcome back to a new card for Cheery Lynn Designs! I was in the mood for yellows and greens....The "chandelier" was supposed to be the main focus of the card.....but of course I needed to add some fun "black eyed susan's". I love the centers! The chandelier has some yellow stickles to give it a bit of bling. I layered "stitched squares" with "horizon square boutique" in the center.

The gorgeous "flourish #8" is new to my collection! I colored the tip of the leaves with a bit darker green Copic marker and then added some 3D crystal lacquer to give it a bit of shine. The sentiment was stamped in yellow distressing ink and fussy cut out.

Easter Egg Hunt by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi everyone, it's JULIE here today and I thought I would share some inspiration for an Easter card in a vintage design.

Cheery Lynn have many cute Easter Dies that embellish our crafty designs so well. My sweet little chicks were diecut from a yellow patterned cardstock and I coloured their beaks and feet with Copic Pens and added a touch of Black Liquid Pearls for their eyes.

My rabbit was also cut in patterned paper adding a fluffy cotton tail and some Liquid Pearls also to his eye.

My Stackers were all layered up in different shades of paper adding a little cheesecloth behind my image.

Hello Sweet Baby Boy Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Good morning lovelies.
Oh I can't believe 2016 is almost over, can you? The years are flying by so fast, sometimes I wish I had a time machine hihihi.....It's almost Christmas and all of the design team members here at Cheery Lynn Designs are making beautiful Christmas cards and me, well I tried one or two before but I am not such a fan....so for today I made a baby boy card with that awesome new rattle shaker die.  As I said before I am hooked on the shaker dies.

Hello Sweet Baby Boy:
For my card I used the pretty "Vintage Baby" collection by Maja Design.  As you probably know, I am hooked on their collections. This card exists out of five layers and the flowers are from another Maja Design collection.
In the rattle shaker I added the sweet shaker pieces plus some glass glitter and some glass beads. The center of the middle flower is made out of glass beads and the other flower centers are metal pieces by Prima Marketing.
I have to say that the Kiwi Doily looks awesome on any baby projects and I used my Dream Catcher die for another purpose - the feathers attached to it look wonderful in flower clusters. The cute little metal tags on my card are by Tim Holtz. Maybe we could have them as dies too... going to ask Cheery Lynn Designs that would be amazing right???
If you love the Cheery Lynn Designs dies I used, you could always enter our bi-weekly challenge to win a $20 shopping spree.
This time it's challenge #244 "Red and Green Theme" I can't wait to see your work! I always enjoy looking at your works have a great week everyone.

Baby Shower by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a card inspired by the current Doilies challenge and all the baby showers I seem to be attending or throwing lately.  I used yellows and aqua because I love the combination and it works for either a boy or girl.  This Umbrella is a new die for me and I just love the detail.  I embossed it with a chunky white embossing powder that has flecks of glitter.  I added a piece of white card stock behind the main part of the umbrella so the embossing powder would show up better.

The Horizon Square Boutique Stacker was cut with white card stock and layered on a cream 5.5" square card.  I then cut the patterned blue layer to 4.75" square and adhered it to the white.  The French Pastry Doily was cut with a yellow patterned card stock and adhered with foam tape for dimension.

On the bottom I added the word baby - I just LOVE the font of these script words!

Just Because with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi everyone, it's Lisa with a new card for Cheery Lynn Designs. I decided to try something new by making the base of the card by using the largest of the "horizon square boutique".  I've seen some of the other DT members use it and I have to say it is really a gorgeous piece to have in your collection!

I wanted to make some flowers in yellow to match the patterned papers, so I chose the "sweet williams strip" and "sweet christine" in white cardstock. Next to them I used "dutch daisy border" The leaves are one of my favorites called "flourish leaf strip" The doily in the background is "english tea party" and it was inspired to be used for this week's challenge "doilies".  I printed up the sentiment from the computer and layered it on the smallest "horizon fishtail banner" A few pearls in the centers of the flowers and a few in the top right hand corner. This card is ready to bring some cheerful spring weather your way.

You are Fabulous by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny here today with a card inspired by this week's Sparkle & Shine Challenge.  I bought some new design paper recently and I wanted to make something with muted shades. When I put the pieces together I didn't feel there was enough contrast so I changed the colors by adding in the blue-greens and the card came together.

The card base is a 5.5" blue-green.  The gray patterned paper on top was cut with the Horizon Boutique Stacker Square. I used this die on my card last Thursday too.  It's my go-to large square die as it always adds a bit of interest and elegance.

I cut two Horizon Fishtail Banners and glued them so only the tails would show.  I wanted to give the illusion of one long banner.  I then adhered the Fleur De Lis Doily Circle cut out of gold glitter paper.   It's popped up with foam adhesive for dimension.  A blue striped paper cut with the Pierced Stacker #3 was layered on top and then I added the Royal Scandinavian Tag #1 stamped with the sentiment to the very top. I added clear glitter glue to the sides of the tag.  Last I cut gold corners using the extra corner included with the Royal Scandinavian Tag #1 and used one of the extra negative fleur de lis on the "fabulous" tag.  I hope you can see all the sparkle and shine in the photos.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you'll join this week's Sparkle & Shine Challenge for a chance to win $20 towards shopping at Cheery Lynn Designs.  I always love to see the beautiful challenge entries.

Christmas Cardinal by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny here today sharing a Christmas card inspired by this week's challenge.  I began by layering the Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames in red on top of a 5.5 inch square card.  I took a smaller white piece of card stock and distressed the edges before layering a piece of design paper cut with the French Flair Classic Silver Stacker on top.

I thought the Fancy Bird House decorated in red and green would make a cute holiday home for thie Cardinal from the Feathered Friends set.  I cut the birdhouse using kraft paper and then glued different colored papers to the back to add the detail I wanted.  I also double cut the fence and layered the white fence on top of the kraft base.  The snow is texture paste and then I also added sparkle by adding a glitter paste on top.  I used two layers of the Holly Lace Flourish for greenery and added a snowflake from the Snowflake Set #2.

Love You by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi there Cheery Lynn friends, it's JULIE here today and I'm sharing with you a card using our fabulous new word die - Love You. I gave my card a Masculine touch, hopefully to inspire you, as I know we all struggle when it comes to thinking what design to make for a male, but changing the colours and adding a flower would equally give this design a feminine look.

I used several of my Stacker dies to build my layers and with it coming close to the Festive season I just had to add some Platinum Stickles for an accent of bling.

My Ink bottle was coloured with a Copic Pen and I wrote the work Ink on it. My Feather I inked the edges and ruffled the sides for a realistic look.

I fussy cut a heart shape to place behind my heart doily and gave my word - Hugs a shadow effect.

Thank You with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Hi, it's Jenny here today with a Thank You card inspired by Cheery Lynn's Give Thanks Challenge.  Blue is my favorite color and I tend to gravitate towards it when I want something both simple and elegant.  I love it paired with kraft paper.  I kept with a simple cool color scheme with this card.
First I cut the largest Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frame from the set out of a solid blue paper.  I adhered it to a 5.5 inch square card front.  I then cut a piece of kraft paper to a 4.75 inch square.  I used the largest circle from the matching Horizon Circle Boutique Stacker Frame set to cut a piece of design paper.  I cut the Thank You twice and layered them, offsetting the blue one underneath for a shadow effect.  Before gluing the thank you down I added in the Notre Dame Cathedral Doily die in white underneath.  It fit perfectly onto the Horizon Circle layer.
Last I made the flowers using blue and white paper, a molding mat and tool and the Chrysanthemum strip die.  These are such quick and easy flowers, they always look delicate and lovely.  I added kraft leaves behind the flowers from the Build a Flower #2 die and then glued chunky glass glitter to the center of the flowers for some sparkle.

Give Thanks By Debbie Brownmiller

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello. It's Debbie from Debbie' s Time Out. Glad to see you here today. Today I have created a
" Give Thanks" card. I had this beautiful paper with colorful fall leaves in my stash that I thought would be perfect paper for this design that I had in mind.

I cut a couple of mats and then layered the largest of the Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames   cut out of the pattern paper. I cut a couple of Mini Butterflies w Angel Wings  and layered them over the butterflies that were part of the paper pattern to give a 3D effect. I colored some white pearls green with my Copics to match the paper and used glossy accents to add rain droplets on the leaves.

I've just got to show you a close up of the  twiggy wreath that  I used as my focal point. The Happy Halloween Twiggy Wreath   is a great design for making a wreath for any season or occasion. I used two layers of this wreath popping each layer up. I left one crow attached and cut the crow from the second cut and perched him up on the sign. I hung the sign (which I printed from the internet)  from the top of the wreath. What a perfect sentiment for this challenge theme. A few of the branches from the Branch set were inked in fall colors to match and tucked in here and there. A bow finished off the wreath nicely.

Thanks for joining me today.  I now invite you to join our weekly challenge
@ http://cheerylynndesigns.blogspot.ca/search/label/challenge for your chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree.  I will see you next Friday when I will share another project with you. I am sure you will like the design of it.

Have a crafty week my friends!

Debbie

Happy Halloween by Eva Dobilas

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hello there, it's Eva today here with a Halloween card.  We have some super cute dies, so my card is pretty cute I might say.

To create my card base I die cut two Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames out of black card stock.  Next I die cut a square using Square Stitch and Cut Tool out of patterned paper.  Than I die cut  another patterned paper using Horizon Fishtail Banners.  Next I die cut a Horrible Cat out of black card stock and added yellow card stock on the face for the eyes and nose and added it on top of the banner.

Next I die cut the three Jack-O-Lanterns out of orange patterned paper and placed yellow card stock underneath to contrast the eyes, nose and mouth.  I placed them on the card front.  Than I die cut a Witch Hat using purple card stock and added black underneath to show the design and added it to the biggest pumpkin.  Finally I die cut the Happy Halloween sentiment from the Happy Halloween Twiggy Wreath die and added it to the banner.

Here is the list of Cheery Lynn Designs dies I used to create this card with:

Thanks for stopping by today and Good Luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge.

Halloween Thank You with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello!  It's Jenny posting today with a Halloween inspired Thank You card.  I've been on a Halloween kick lately since I'm helping plan a large Halloween party at my children's school.  I began by cutting the largest square of the Horizon Square Boutique Stacker.  I glued it to a white 5.5" card that I'd cut down slightly so the scalloped edge of the die cut would show without a backer. I layered a piece of black design paper on top using foam adhesive.  I then used more foam adhesive to secure the orange Felicity Doily to the front of the card.

The flowers were created using the  Black Eyed Susan Strip die.  I shaped them a little with a stylus and molding mat and curled the orange center with a quilling tool. The leaves are from the Crafty Ann Flourish #13 die.  The leaves were colored lightly with an orange distress ink.  I added some black Dandelions around the flowers too.  I love using these for a little added texture in paper floral arrangements.

I tucked in white Add a flourish flourishes underneath the Felicity Doily and then glued the Thank You # 2 to the center.  I waited until the end to glue the sentiment so it wasn't obscured by the flowers.  Last I added a few black rhinestones randomly to the edges of the card for a little sparkle.

Hi there Cheery Lynn friends!  Karen here today sharing
this fun 3-D Poinsetta card!

I started by using the pink snowflake designer paper and
die cut it using the French Flair Classic Silver Stacker set for the card base.

Then, I created a 3-layered piece to put on the base of the card
using these dies in this order:  Square Scalloped LG Square Stackers,

Then, I die cut the 3-D Poinsetta twice, distressed inked both pieces,
and layered, and added some pearls to the center of the flower.

Finally, I die cut the smallest Pierced Banner die and stamped the sentiment.
I added a few pearl and rhinestone swirls to give a little elegant flair!

Peace & Love Card with Corina Finley

3:41 AM 1 Comments

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all checked out Wednesdays post of the Cheery Lynn Designs July New Release! Loads of awesome detailed designed dies to choose from.

For this weeks card, I used the New Release Lucy the Lamb die as my focal point. I cut her out of a thin sheet of fun foam. The die is created with so many details that they show up wonderfully.

I also used the New release Grass Border 2 die. I cut and layered the grass three times and placed Lucy the Lamb on top.

My Floral arrangement was create using the Frangipani with Leaves and the Shasta Daisy Strip Die. To create my crinkle flower, start by inking each Frangipani petal with your colour of choice and then spritz with water. I then crinkled each petal in a ball and set aside to dry. I then carefully unwrinkled and glued together to create the flower. I finished them off by adding white stamens to the center.

Howdy by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny here today with a card using this adorable Clarabell the Cow from the new release.  If you missed yesterday's post scroll down and you can see all the new Cheery Lynn July release dies HERE.  My card was inspired by the current White-on-White Challenge.

I used a cream colored 5.5" card base and layered the largest Horizon Square Boutique Stacker on top cut out of a shimmery card stock.  Then I layered an English Tea Party Doily die cut, cut with bright white card stock on top of that.  The center of the doily was cut out with the second smallest of the Silver Stacker Circle dies.  Clarabell the Cow was cut with a piece of the base card stock and the Howdy was cut again in white and paper pieced inside for contrast.  I also replaced Clarabell's eyebrows with white ones.

The flowers were made using a molding mat, stylus tool and the Tea Rose Medium die.  I used a shimmery darker cream card stock for the flowers.  The leaves are from the Branches die.  Last I thought Clarabell needed a little flair so she's wearing the hat from the Arizona Cowboy die set.

Thank You Doily Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hello Crafty Friends!

I am back with you this week to share a Thank you card I have created using the Nautical Wheeler Doily as my inspiration. I wanted to create this card with a lot of depth and layers. I love how the colours worked together and how my flowers and Dandelions die mimics the background pattern paper.

I cut my base from dark gray cardstock, die cut the Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frame from light gray cardstock and layered my pattern paper on top. I then heat embossed the Nautical Wheeler Doily with embossing powder. I used the doily as a guide to trim away the center piece from the pattern paper, so that I could stamp my sentiment on the cardstock layer underneath.

My flowers were cut from white cardstock, leaves from the Rose and Leaves die set in dark gray cardstock and the Add a Flourish from light gray. I added the Dandelions in a rich marigold colour for a touch of boldness and Rhinestones for shine!

Above you can see a close up of the center and stamped Thank You sentiment. This card could have easily been turned into a shaker card by just adding acetate to the sentiment opening and sequins!

Dies used:
Nautical Wheeler Doily - DL180

Dandelions (Set of 2) - B453
