Sweet Baby Boy 8x8 Layout by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 0 Comments
Good morning Cheery Lynn Fans.
I hope you are all enjoying your summer vacation. Mine just started and I can't wait spend some precious time with my little family. By the end of the week we are leaving for a camping ground in our own country.  Oh I just can't wait.... no scrapping for me for a week though, so that is going to be a big trial for me since I scrap almost every day. For today I am sharing another 8x8 layout made with some pretty Maja Design papers using some of the new Cheery Lynn Dies on which I am totally hooked.  Wow, these dies are amazing L.O.V.E. them to bits.

Sweet Baby Boy:
This layout was really easy to make.  I had the design in my head and then I punched out all the dies I wanted to use and distressed/colored them where needed. Then I picked out the picture I was going to use and voila...I always tend to make a picture of my work when building up my page and that is what I did here too.

I watered the paper and ruffled it before I treated the background with clear gesso, stamps, paste and sprays.  At the end I added all the dies to complete my layout. Those B890 - Weathered Scrolls are so amazing and versatile.  You can use them for any occasion you get three.  This one was fitted best for a baby layout {at least that is what hubby told me}.

Yes, sometimes I do ask my husband what would fit best on my layout. Most of the time I show him two options and most of the time I pick a different one then he does lol...but he sure is a great help. The centers of the blue flowers are handmade and so easy.  I made them using foam balls, hot glue and mini prills. I also added a cute flair which says: "Smile to the World" I am so hooked on those at the moment I can't stop myself from using them.....lol

Hello Sweet Baby Boy Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 1 Comments
Good morning lovelies.
Oh I can't believe 2016 is almost over, can you? The years are flying by so fast, sometimes I wish I had a time machine hihihi.....It's almost Christmas and all of the design team members here at Cheery Lynn Designs are making beautiful Christmas cards and me, well I tried one or two before but I am not such a fan....so for today I made a baby boy card with that awesome new rattle shaker die.  As I said before I am hooked on the shaker dies.

Hello Sweet Baby Boy:
For my card I used the pretty "Vintage Baby" collection by Maja Design.  As you probably know, I am hooked on their collections. This card exists out of five layers and the flowers are from another Maja Design collection.
In the rattle shaker I added the sweet shaker pieces plus some glass glitter and some glass beads. The center of the middle flower is made out of glass beads and the other flower centers are metal pieces by Prima Marketing.
I have to say that the Kiwi Doily looks awesome on any baby projects and I used my Dream Catcher die for another purpose - the feathers attached to it look wonderful in flower clusters. The cute little metal tags on my card are by Tim Holtz. Maybe we could have them as dies too... going to ask Cheery Lynn Designs that would be amazing right???
If you love the Cheery Lynn Designs dies I used, you could always enter our bi-weekly challenge to win a $20 shopping spree.
This time it's challenge #244 "Red and Green Theme" I can't wait to see your work! I always enjoy looking at your works have a great week everyone.

Thoughts of You with Karen Maldonado

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hello Cheery Lynn friends!  It's Karen here sharing a "Thoughts of You" card
in tones of teal blue, green, and yellow!

I've layered the card first by cutting the French Flair Classic Scalloped die in
white cardstock.  Then, I followed by using the French Flair Classic dies
in teal blue and green print papers.

I wanted that lovely Kiwi Spirt Doily to accent the layered sentiment, so
I cut it out using thick white cardstock.  By using this thicker cardstock,
it super-defines the intricate details
of this beautiful doily even more, and adds great depth!!

Then, I stamped the sentiment onto the Oval Classic SM Silver Stacker
using white cardstock, and layered it onto the Sentiment Tag #1 in green.
Lastly, layered that piece onto the teal blue Sentiment Tag #2
and added two shiny pearls!

I ink distressed the flowers and leaves, making four full Tea Rose medium
and two closed Tea Rose Medium flowers and placed them on the
top and bottom corners of the card.

List of dies used on my project:

B436 Tea Rose Medium

Be sure to check out this week's "Pretty in Purple" challenge
for a chance at a $20 gift certificate to the Cheery Lynn Designs store!

Have a wonderful day, and thanks for visiting!

Hugs & Smiles,
Karen

Sending my Love Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Welcome and thanks for joining me today! I have to admit that this card is out of my comfort zone ........I coloured! Better yet, I stayed inside the lines!

My inspiration for this card comes from last weeks challenge card entries! There were so many wonderful and creative entries. I encourage everyone to take part in Cheery Lynns weekly themed challenge.

To create this card, I cut the base of the card from white cardstock, smaller than the largest Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frame. The large Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frame die cut is centered on top of the card base. The card base will not be visible threw the delicate scalloped detail on the edges. I then cut a piece of cardstock and pattern paper - layered each on to the base.

I then layered the coloured image which was cut with a circle die from the Circle Classic - Silver Stackers. I cut the Daphne Doily down so that the scalloped edges is only showing. These are then layered upon a cardstock circle and the Kiwi Spirit Doily in white.

I created a small open rose and a rose bud with greenery. Used the smallest die from the Horizon Fishtail Banners set to cut out my embossed sentiment.

I used the Steampunk Cornerand altered them a bit! I cut the center/middle section out and replaced it with the Anastasia Border which matched the Kiwi Spirit Doily perfectly. I pop-dotted them to the top left and right corners.

To finish my card off, I added a few pearls and a little shimmer here and there!

This card must be a bit different than my 'normal' style because two of my close friends/fellow crafters saw it in my Studio on Tuesday and asked who gave it to me!!

Dies Used:

Circle Classic - Silver Stackers - L-4

Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frames - DL253

Lace Wardrobe Style Card by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi everyone, Julie here hosting the blog today.
I thought this week I would showcase how versatile our doilies can be in making beautiful accents and patterns on our craft projects.
The Anastasia border matches the Kiwi doily die perfectly so are great to use together, especially when making a real feature with them, like I am doing with this card.

On the opening of my card you will see the border strips, I love the lace effect. You will also see my doily cut into corners and halved. I matted and layered onto papers.

My flowers were made by cutting them out in same pale green card stock as the swirls and background but I stamped a little gesso onto them and rubbed the edges too with gesso before making them up, to give a shabby feel.

The inside of my card compliments the outside and I embellished with a few pearls to finish.

Cheery Lynn dies used:

Thanks for stopping by today to see my card and Good Luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge
Happy crafting this weekend and I'll see you all next Saturday.

Doily Flower card by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello the Blogging friends, its Julie here today. It has been the most beautiful week full of sunshine in Scotland and yesterday I went around our local Garden Centre with my mum. It's full of so much inspiration seeing all the gorgeous flowers in full bloom.

This week my card is for a Birthday which would be suitable for a variety of occasions by simply changing the wording with our word dies.

My flowers were cut out using white cardstock and inked to shade them. I layered various leaves and my tiny flourishes to form an arrangement on my card. My doily I also inked and added the Angel wing die offset to the back of the doily to make everything POP. You will see my Border strip was also inked in two shades and matches my Doily.

Good Luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge.

Enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you all next Saturday.
