Wishing You Sunny Days by Karen Maldonado

3:30 AM 7 Comments

Hello there sweet Cheery Lynn friends!

It's Karen here, sharing my "anything goes" challenge car.  Today, marks two years since I became a Cheery Lynn Designs Team Member.  It's very bittersweet posting my last blog entry for this amazing company!  On that note, I thought this sentiment was fitting for expressing my gratitude for all your lovely comments throughout my term here as DT member.  If you happen to follow my blog, I will still be promoting the use of these gorgeous and intricate dies!

I love to layer, so basically, I started with the French Flair Classic Silver Stacker die as my base.  Next, layered the Horizon Fishtail Banner right on top of the French Flair piece.  Then, I  die cut the Pierced Stacker #2 and stamped my sentiment.  I layered this onto the Circle Classic Silver Stacker,
and then place it onto the Daphne Doily! You will notice that I intentionally left some of the pieces within the doily for a slightly different look.

Then, I made a blue daisy using the Daisy Strip! I die cut the Leafy Flourish and Leaf sets and placed them both underneath my flower. I added a sweet rhinestone flourish as well!  Lastly, I cut out one of the butterflies from my Small Exotic Butterflies set, and added a few shiny pearls.

Friendship Card with Karen Maldonado

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hello Cheery Lynn friends!  It's Karen here hosting the blog today!

I have a special friendship card to share with you...
Quite often you will see that I let the designer papers I use to inspire the style
and color  of my handmade flowers I make for the project!

In this case, using the Judy's Blooms die I cut two flowers, and then
distressed inked then with a few different colors to compliment the tiny
designer paper flowers!  I used a few more different distress inks to color in the
leaves for each flower.  The center of the flowers are tiny seed beads that I borrowed
from my jewelry making stash!
They were glued to the flower centers...I love the extra texture it adds to the flowers.

The rest came together pretty quickly by just layering a few more dies starting
with the bottom die being the Daphne Doily with Angel Wing.  Then, I layered
the Circle Classic Silver Stackers die right on top of the bottom die.

Lastly, I layered the two sizes of  Horizon Fishtail Banners to the top
of the stamped sentiment Horizon Rectangle Boutique Stacker Frame!

I added some hemp cord to make a nice little bow, and I added some
machine stitching to the card!!  Here's a close-up of the handmade flowers...

Sending my Love Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Welcome and thanks for joining me today! I have to admit that this card is out of my comfort zone ........I coloured! Better yet, I stayed inside the lines!

My inspiration for this card comes from last weeks challenge card entries! There were so many wonderful and creative entries. I encourage everyone to take part in Cheery Lynns weekly themed challenge.

To create this card, I cut the base of the card from white cardstock, smaller than the largest Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frame. The large Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frame die cut is centered on top of the card base. The card base will not be visible threw the delicate scalloped detail on the edges. I then cut a piece of cardstock and pattern paper - layered each on to the base.

I then layered the coloured image which was cut with a circle die from the Circle Classic - Silver Stackers. I cut the Daphne Doily down so that the scalloped edges is only showing. These are then layered upon a cardstock circle and the Kiwi Spirit Doily in white.

I created a small open rose and a rose bud with greenery. Used the smallest die from the Horizon Fishtail Banners set to cut out my embossed sentiment.

I used the Steampunk Cornerand altered them a bit! I cut the center/middle section out and replaced it with the Anastasia Border which matched the Kiwi Spirit Doily perfectly. I pop-dotted them to the top left and right corners.

To finish my card off, I added a few pearls and a little shimmer here and there!

This card must be a bit different than my 'normal' style because two of my close friends/fellow crafters saw it in my Studio on Tuesday and asked who gave it to me!!
