Forever Friend by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi Cheery Lynn fans, its JULIE here today and I am sharing some Vintage inspiration on my latest Forever Friend card.

My papers used on this card are from Lemoncraft. I started by cutting out my Stacker Layers, sprinkling some copper embossing powder onto my paper and heat setting for a shabby feel. I tattered and inked my faux stitched layers, layering onto my card with my beautiful die cut Doily as an accent in the background.

My image was die cut out using my Stitched Circles adding copper embossing powder to the edge to frame it, adding an accent of cheesecloth and layering onto my die cut layers.

I have small Whimsy ticket stamps that I stamped with Archival Ink and shaded with Distress Ink, I die cut out and tattered the edges slightly with my scissors.

My flowers were shaped on my Embossing mat and once the glue was dry I added some Distress Ink to the edges for definition. Finishing my card with a touch of lace and pearls.

Hi Everyone, it's Julie here hosting the blog today. In Scotland we have had our first covering of snow on the hills and it has turned very cold, but I don't think we will get a White Christmas.
My card this week has been arranged by building up layers of die cuts in complimentary colours of card.

You will notice I have added Stickles to help define my layers and to add the all important sparkle to a festive card.

My Poinsettia's were made by colouring White card with Distress Spray Stains and adding a little Gilding wax to the edges and a few stamens in the centres. I arranged my Holly Leaves and Pine Branches to form a Festive arrangement.

I stamped my centre image adding more Stickles and Silicone glue to raise it up slightly. Finishing off my card with a few Red Gems.

Happy New Year card by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hello Everyone and a warm welcome to our new followers, it's Julie here hosting the blog today. This week I have gone a bit Christmassy again with my card but this time incorporating the New Year onto it.

My wine glasses, bottle and New Year are from our latest release. I mounted the glasses and bottle onto different coloured card, fussy cut around and added some bling. I sanded the paper slightly on my wine glasses and bottle for a shabby feel.

My Happy New Year was layered twice with different colours of card to add dimension.

My Poinsettias I layered up and sprayed with a little gold mica spray for added sparkle. The flourishes I kept some complete and others I cut in half and added into areas of my card to accent.

Doily Flower card by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hello the Blogging friends, its Julie here today. It has been the most beautiful week full of sunshine in Scotland and yesterday I went around our local Garden Centre with my mum. It's full of so much inspiration seeing all the gorgeous flowers in full bloom.

This week my card is for a Birthday which would be suitable for a variety of occasions by simply changing the wording with our word dies.

My flowers were cut out using white cardstock and inked to shade them. I layered various leaves and my tiny flourishes to form an arrangement on my card. My doily I also inked and added the Angel wing die offset to the back of the doily to make everything POP. You will see my Border strip was also inked in two shades and matches my Doily.

Good Luck to everyone entering our Weekly Challenge.

Enjoy your weekend and I’ll see you all next Saturday.
