A Beautiful Place

3:30 AM 1 Comments
A warm Hello to all you Cheery Lynn fans. It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out  with you today.

For this a clean and simple card I have featured the beautiful Fiona's Magic Mirror Die.

I covered a white card front with some colorful flowered paper. I place the doily so it is just above the card. I then layered a sentiment on top of the doily.

Here is the inside using the Pop Up Happy Birthday Word . I covered all of the inside with matching paper and colored the words with copic markers. I hope I have inspired you to play with some pop up cards. They really do make people smile.

Thanks for visiting the blog today and for all the comments you leave.

Have a crafty day my friends.

Special Day with Laurie Schmidt

12:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi everyone!
Laurie here from Stamping Up North sharing a wedding card today. I have a thing for purple lately, and just love how pretty and fresh it looks with white. So...I decided to use this combo for a wedding card.

I started out with the beautiful Fiona's Magic Mirror.

I think it's such an elegant die, and it gave a perfect background space for my triple layer wedding cake and stamped sentiment.

I decorated the cake with some tiny flowers from the Mandy Doily, and the bow from the Christmas Wreath:

Create Flowers by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi Everyone, It's JULIE here today and now that the Christmas season is over I thought it would be nice to make a card filled with summery flowers.

My card has lots of layers, tattering at the edges, adding Frantage Powders and tucking in doily accents. My inverted scalloped edge was made using a piece of waste paper and cutting out a scalloped square.

My Watering Can was painted with Pewter Distress Paint and adding some Archival Ink for shading. I then added a little Grass to the base and on the top of the Watering Can I shaded with a Pale Blue pen and added Glossy Accents for a watery look.

I cut out 2 of my Leafy Flourishes, placing one on my card, the other I cut into sections and placed into my design with my Flowers which have Flower Soft added to their centres.

Wish You Were Here by Karen Maldonado

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hello Cheery Lynn friends, Karen Here sharing this shabby card with you today!

Let's start by using the Fiona's Magic Mirror die for the base of the card,
and then use the Card Maker Rectangle Classic right on top using
the polka-dot designer papers!  You'll notice that the embossing of the
Fiona's Magic Mirror really stands out, and here is how I did this...
Die cut on ivory card stock, then use some Black Soot Distress Stain.
Right away, you'll notice how the stain only stays on the
top and not in the recessed pieces of the die!

Then, I die cut the Concentric Circles Mesh piece
twice from ivory card stock,  and only used a portion of it!
I distress inked both pieces, to match the flower, and then layered
one piece right on top of the other!  I used pop dots underneath
to raise it from the bottom framed piece.

Lastly, I created this distressed big flower using the leaf from
the Build a Flower #1. and the flower from the Judy's Blooms die!

To finish, I took the  Pierced Banners, and also distress inked it!
Then, I stamped the sentiment and cut it up, and placed onto
the banner to mimic a film strip effect!

Birthday Card by Corina Finley

3:30 AM 3 Comments
Hello Crafters!

I'm glad you can join me, Corina, with today's card. My card was inspired and started by a white piece of card stock that I sprayed with a variety of glimmer mists in pewter, sand, blue, turquoise and old gold.

As you can see by the photo above, I cut a circle out of the sprayed cardstock using a stacker die from the Circle Classic - Silver set. I used the New Release Fleur De Lis Doily die to die cut the center of the circle and backed with black cardstock. I then trimmed the center out of the Clock (Steampunk Series) die cut and adhered it to the top of the circle.

I used one banners from both the new and previous release sets and the second smallest die from the Pierced Stacker #2 set for my Birthday sentiment. In the background, I created the layered base with black cardstock and pattern paper plus I layered the Fiona’s Magic Mirror die which was cut from the sprayed cardstock.

8x8 Nautical Themed Layout by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Hi Everyone, It's Julie here today. Thanks for all your lovely comments and likes on my Shabby Butterfly card last week, truly appreciated. Today I am sharing with you an 8x8 Scrapbook Layout using a photograph of my Dad in the early days of his career in the Merchant Navy.

I started off by tearing out a section from an old map and adding some Distress Ink on to it to age it further and mounted it on to Cardstock which had been torn and distressed at the edges with my Distress tool.

I cut out my Ships Helm and added highlights with a Gold Pro marker.

Next I cut out my Anchor and highlighted the chain.

You will see in this photograph I layered it up twice for a shadow effect, cutting the die cut in half gave me the expansion I needed for this effect.

My frame was cut out and highlighted with some Gilding Wax. My Ships Helm Die was once again accented at the side of this frame.

I trimmed the photograph of my Dad and added a White Border to help make the White on his Cap and Shirt pop forward. I don't yet have the Word Die Dad, so I paper pieced from my words Daughter and Birthday to get the word Dad.

I now trimmed a lighter shade of Blue Cardstock to 7.5 inches square and placed my Deutschland Border around the perimeter, once cut I Distressed the edges and mounted on to White Cardstock of the same size to highlight the beauty of this die.

Finally layering all my Layout onto an 8x8 piece of Dark Blue Cardstock. I added the Fishtail Banners which were trimmed down and curled at the edges adding a little star in the centre.

I hope this Scrapbook layout has inspired you to get creative. Thanks for stopping by today and Good Luck to Everyone entering our Weekly Challenge for your chance to win a $20 spending spree at Cheery Lynn Designs.

Vintage Layered Card by Julie Lavalette

Hi Everyone, Julie here today hosting the blog. This week I thought I would share a vintage style card with you.

I thought I would show you previous layers on my card as it makes it easier to see. The first 2 layers glued onto my card were torn at the edges and some distress added to the edges and I placed my tiny doily onto both sides. My next layer, I die cut out the Horizon Square Frame, distressed the edges and added some creases onto the paper and placed my die cut heart.

My image I glued lace around and added to my Magic Mirror die which I had distressed the edges on and added some gilding wax too.

Layers of different leaves and flourishes were added which I cut out in different coordinating papers. My roses were die cut from white cardstock. I shaded the paper with my Copics before building my roses. Finally adding a few pearls on my card to finish.

Romantic Criss Cross with Rhonda

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Happy first day of September to you.  It's Rhonda here today to host the blog.

I have a criss cross style card to share with you today. This style of card is fun to create as you get a decorative envelope and another sweet little card to go inside.

Once I assembled my base piece, I used our Card Maker Rectangle Classic to cut my pieces for the front. I then used the Lilith Edger Doily die on my angle.  You see the Anastasia Border peeking out on the sides and bottom.

The Fiona's Magic Mirror fit perfectly inside to create the base for my card. The other layers were used with Card Maker Rectangle classic and scalloped. The little tags were layered and tucked in to create a little tab to help pull the card out.

I've used a variety of flowers here for interest and texture along with the Rose Leaf Strip and Flourish Leaf Strip.  I hope you liked my creation today, it was really fun to create this card.

If you would like to make one of these cards, I will share the link on my blog.
