# Embellishments #2 # Embellishments #3

Thrilled to Share our new Guest Designer

Today we have a special treat for you, we have a new Guest Designer for the month of June.  I know you are going to find her work super inspirational and she'll give you some great ideas for cards you can make.  So without further ado, let me introduce Holly Brown.

Holly has been drawn to the creative world since she was a little girl with a crayon in one hand and a coloring book in the other.  From counted cross stitch to flower arranging to cake decorating and handmade Christmas ornaments to rubber stamped cards and scrapbooking, she has played with many creative outlets throughout her life.  The art of creating something from paper and ink and dies never fails to amaze Holly.  She lives with her husband and puppies in Texas.

You can view more of her beautiful work on her blog :

Welcome Holly ....let's see what she has to share with us today.

Hello everyone!  My name is Holly Brown, and I am thrilled to be here as the Guest Designer for June.  I fell in love with the Cheery Lynn Designs dies when I first saw their gorgeous doilies and borders and flowers.  Little did I know I'd be guest designing for them!  :-)  Many thanks to BJ and to Lori and Gini, the DT Coordinator, for this wonderful opportunity.

I tend to keep my artwork very clean and simple in order to keep the focus on one particular element.  I love to try new things - sometimes they work and sometimes they don't.  It's all about keeping things interesting and fun.

For my card today, I've gone with a slightly Oriental theme.  I was inspired by the new Vase dies and I wanted to see what would fit into this particular shape of vase.  The baby's breath branch from the Embellishments #2 set works perfectly!  I cut some of the tiny baby's breath flowers (Embellishments #2) as well as some of the larger flowers from the Embellishments #3 set and glued them down on the branch.  I added pearls to the four largest flowers.

For the vase itself, I wanted it to look like old crackled pottery.  I stamped the vase with a stained glass background and then covered it with Glossy Accents.  It was set aside to dry overnight and then glued down over the floral branch.

The Mesh Border provides the perfect little accent in the background.  You can see that I kept this clean and simple so that the vase of flowers remains the focal point of this card.  I hope you've enjoyed my first guest post today!  Come on back next Sunday for a fun and colorful card.  :-)

The Cheery Lynn Designs dies that I used today are:
