Hello with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hello! Springtime is in the air! So I thought I would make a springtime card scene using lots of Cheery Lynn Designs die cuts. This card is 4.25 x 6 inches. I typically make 5 x 6, but with the stitched rectangle frame I made it a bit smaller.

A couple of clouds, a whimsical tree, fence, a cat, grass 2, a butterfly, and tiny flowers it really came together quite quickly.

I added tiny pearls to the centers of all the flowers.

The sentiment was stamped in brown ink and fussy cut out. Tip:( I cut out the tree in green and colored the tree and branches in brown ink. I also cut out the cat in green and colored it brown to match the tree) :)

Thanks for stopping by today!
Have a great day!

Flower Pot Card with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi everyone! I'm so excited to share this flower pot card using Cheery Lynn Designs Dies with you today! I have seen several of these cards and I wanted to make one for my mother for Mother's Day this year. So I thought I would make one early to make sure it comes out the way I wanted it to look. OMGosh! If you haven't made one of these flower pot cards in the past...I highly recommend you trying to make your first. They are truly beautiful!

The base is 3.5 x 9 inches. Scored at 2 inches and 5.5 inches. I then cut 1 inch off the top of the 2 border and added the "border carnivale" in white for the edge. I layered some ribbon  around the whole top and added a bow towards the left side. I then die cut 3 sets of the "sunflower set" in yellow and placed some black gala glitz in the centers for a bit of bling.  The 2 largest "leafy flourish"were placed behind the flowers and then I added 2 of the smaller "leafy flourish" to drape down onto the flower pot.

The insert with flowers and your personal message is 2.75 x 5 inches. I stamped a sentiment on the left hand corner and added 3 small butterflies from "mini dimensional butterflies". There are so many cute butterflies to choose from this set. I layered them in white cardstock to make it pop out a bit.

Hope your enjoyed my flower pot card today!

Rainy Day Friends by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi Everyone, It's Julie here hosting the blog today. With an abundance of beautiful colours everywhere from Summer flowers I found myself inspired to make a brightly coloured card.

I used my Cuties Strip around the edge of my frame, layering on my doily and stamped sentiment with Silicone Glue. My Butterflies were layered 3 times using a smaller one in the centre and adding some gems.

My flowers were made using 3 layers of paper, shaped on my embossing mat and a few Pearl Stamens added to the centres.

Vintage Easel Card by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 9 Comments

Hi Everyone, It's Julie here today and I am sharing with you how to cut an easel card using your dies. Let me talk you through my photographs.

My card was folded in half. Notice how I have placed my die slightly off the edge of my card so it doesn't cut my fold when I run through my die cutting machine. I next placed the die to the opposite end and cut. I now had my shaped card.

My topper was cut to form the top of my easel card in white and patterned paper for the top and bottom part. You will also see in the second photo how my folded card looks opened up. My layers were glued together to form my easel card.

My doily was double heat embossed for a smooth finish and some bling added into the centre of the flowers.

Love these little butterflies for an accent. I double layered them and added a touch of bling to the centre.

My Rose was cut out of white cardstock and a little Frayed Burlap Distress ink added. This was then mounted onto my bow with a few leaves, my corner die and little butterflies.

Finally a side on view of my finished card. Good luck to everyone entering our Weekly challenge where you could be the lucky winner of a $20 spending spree here at Cheery Lynn Designs.
