More Shades of Purple

Hi Everyone :) Alison here today, sharing my card for this weeks challenge theme of 'Shades of Purple'.

Now, I'm not the biggest fan of 'Purpaidh' (Gaelic for purple) so this was a little bit of a challenge for me too.  I love the vibrancy and depth of the colour, I just cant find anything to compliment  it except black and white! lol :D

I played with a couple of gorgeous new dies I hadn't used before, and I was blown away at how brilliantly they cut and how detailed the results were.  I started off using the Cathedral Lace Frame for my back-drop and overlaid it onto lilac vellum to soften the colour a little.  This is such a wonderful die and very versatile too.

I used white bazzill cardstock to cut both the large and the small Lace Faerie Queen Butterflies - arent these just fabulous! :)  They also have such beautiful detail.  I cut matching angel wings in vellum and this gave it lots of fluttery dimension. I coloured my stamped image, and cut off the original bat-wings,  as I think these butterfly wings look so much prettier and delicate :)

I had such a lot of fun making this card and used all the below dies:

I  hope you find time to play along with our challenge this week, and I look forward to seeing some fabulous creations. Dont forget, there is also daily inspiration from the other talented members of the DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration Blog, and if you visit the Cheery Lynn Designs website you can see there is not long to go before the NEW RELEASES!!! :) These are so exciting!

I hope everyone has a smashing week, and thanks so much for visiting today.

  5. Oh my, Alison, this card is really beautiful. I love the purple on white and the wings are gorgeous on that etherial image. Your layers of the Cathedral Lace Frame and the Reflection dies are wonderful with the Queen Annes' Lace border. It is all so dreamy and feminine.

  10. Wow, your card is awesome. I too, love purple. My biggest problem is finding several of the same shades of purple for certain projects. You did a fantastic job and I love the dies. Hugs, dj1952

  11. WOW. This is gorgeous Alison. Totally gorgeous.

Try lemon or Red with your purples. Depending on the shades they can be fabulous together. Teal is also a favourite of mine with purples.
