Happy Birthday Card by Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny today with my very first post for Cheery Lynn Designs and I'm so excited to be here!

I tend to use many of the same colors so I thought I'd try something a bit different and use yellows and oranges.  I began with the background by cutting the Princess Window from white card stock and gluing a slightly smaller piece of patterned paper to the back.  The window was then adhered with foam adhesive to a another piece of patterned paper cut with the largest Horizon Square Boutique Stacker Frame which was backed by a gray 5.5" square card.

The orange Large Roses and yellow Cuties 3 flowers were colored with glimmer mist and distress ink, shaped with paper shaping tools and glued with score tape to the Princess Frame.  I tucked leaves and flowers from the Flourish Leaf Strip and Dandelions into the arrangement and added the distress ink colored mushrooms underneath.

I cut the Small Exotic Butterfly 2 with blue patterned paper and darkened the edges with distress ink.  Happy Birthday was glued to the top of the Sentiment Tag 2 which was then popped up with foam adhesive.

Happy Birthday Butterfly Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hello!

Welcome back to another Friday with me, Corina, here on the Cheery Lynn Designs Blog. This weeks card has a light colour palette, with a layered design.

For the base I used Kraft cardstock and matted a piece of pattern paper which is cut 1/4" smaller. I tore the right hand side and placed a white Lilith Doily Edger die cut underneath so the scallop shape is seen.

I created my Doily layered center using the Horizon Circle Boutique Stacker Frames in the medium and large, the Lilith Doily and a circle die from the Classic LG Stackers Nesting Dies.

I placed the largest Horizon Circle die cut down on my card base and then layered the Lilith Doily directly on top.

As you can see in the photo above, I die cut a circle out from the center of the medium Horizon Circle and pop-dotted it to the layers. I die cut my embossed butterfly image with the same circle stacker die and inset the image to the center.

For my focal flower, I used the Chrysanthemum Strip and an altered petal from the Sweet Christine die in the center. I accented using the Baby's Breath Flower set, Tiny Flower set and the Ivy Corner Flourish for foliage.

I added the Happy and Birthday sentiments to my card and add Rhinestones for a touch of bling!

Dies Used:

Lilith Doily w/ Angel Wing - DL263

Spring Birthday Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hello Fellow Crafters!

Corina here with you all, to host the blog and share this weeks card creation. As you may notice, my card is all about Spring! Flowers, twigs and foliage!

I used a piece of thin Cork and die cut it with the French Flair Classic Stackers and the Adaptor Plate. The Cork cut out very easily - one run thru my die cut machine!  I then cut my pattern paper with a smaller French Flair Classic Stacker from the same set.

I layered these on a piece of pattern paper, which I rounded both top and bottom right side corners.

I used the Old Barn Board as a base for my Sentiment. I added the foliage before I adhered my Sentiment to give depth by layering. I also added three pink rhinestones to draw your eye to the sentiment.

The small dragonfly from the Tiny Things with Wings set was inked with blue and only glued in the middle (body) so I could lift the wings up for dimension.

I created three large flowers, four small flowers, and two rose buds. I chose pink and blue hues to compliment the background pattern paper.

I also used the Dandelions, twigs and various foliage to fill in my floral arrangement. Rhinestones were added to the center of each flower.

Dies Used:

Birthday (Set of 2) - B231

Pretty in Pink Birthday Card with Corina Finley

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hello Everyone!

Corina here, with my Pink Card as promised! Did any of you create with a colour that was not your go-to colour!

I do find it difficult to create with pink. So I used my go-to colours - Black and White - to help me! Other than the black and white card stock, all the pattern actually came from one 12x12 piece of pattern paper.

As always I used the Horizon Fishtail Banners (3 Dies), this time the smallest, as a base for my sentiment Birthday die. Absolutely love, love, love, all the detail in all the dies that I used on this card!

Dies used:

Horizon Fishtail Banners (3 Dies) - DL278
French Pastry Tiny Doily - DL234

City Girl Edger - B308

Hello!  Those of you that know me know how much I love to add texture to my projects, and what better way than by embossing plates!
The little critters on the Turtles and Frogs Embossing Plate are sooo cute!! After embossing, I brushed on a little chalk to emphasize the textured pattern. The Celtic Chain Border is the perfect boyish accent!

Pretty in Autumn

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Good Morning Cheery Lynn fans, Donna here with a birthday card created using those lovely autumnal or fall colors (depending on where you live)

I've used a Tilda catching the stars stamp colored with Copics in various shades of brown and then added all the colors using papers and foliage.

To create the floral arrangement I've used the miniature rose singly and then also with the medium rose to create a rose with spiky ends by cutting out a piece of each petal. I've also used the embellishments from Embellishment #1 to create a flower which I laid on top of the leaves....all the leaves have been inked using various colors of distress inks to create a multicolored montage of fall colors. I've used Dimensional Leaves Sm #1 & #2 as well as Flourish Leaf Strip, Pine branches, wreath strip.

The sentiment of Happy Birthday was cute out of bronze metallic cardstock as were the little mini Dimensional butterflies.

A list of the dies used to create this card

Thanks for stopping by.....don't forget to enter your card into our challenge this week which is Fall Colors. You could win a $20 credit to spend in the Cheery Lynn Store.
