Hello,
Kianel here with you today to show you a gift box i made using 14 different dies from CLD, stamps from the brand new collection of Magnolia and tones of details. Get a cuppa and some cakes cause there are many pictures!
The box structure is only made of paper and dies. I used the lattice 1 and the embossed heart border to reinforce all the corners. A bit of white paper makes the base and is glued on an XL scalloped square stackers. Each bottom side is decorated with a stamped piece of paper and a beautiful painted heart chain border.
Same thing is done for the lid of the box but this time i used the "ribbon eyelet border"(B116) with ribbon and pearls. It is decorated using CLD dies "XL scalloped square stackers"(painted in burgundy) "italian flourish doily"(inked and painted to make it glitter) "little scalloped circle stackers"(painted in burgundy) "XL square stackers" (inked and stamped with a text) "XL circle stackers"(adjusted to the Magnolia stamp) "little circle stackers" (inked and stamped with the sentiment) "Judy's blooms"(C184) ( flowers cut in paper and lace paper coloured and inked, leaves coloured with a mix of distress and paint) "fanciful flourish"(B117) (took small bits of it to make the foliage on my clustering and painted it with distress and shimmer paint) "exotic butterfly mini"(DL112) (used it twice, one is painted and decorated with pearls).
I then created a little scene on each side of the assembled box.
Side 1: i used a stamp from Magnolia, flowers from my stash and brand new dies from CLD called "exotic butterfly mini"(DL112) and "fanciful flourish"(B117). i cut the same butterfly twice and positioned one over the other to create more effect. Painted one with shimmer paint and added pearls.
Side 2 : stamp from Magnolia, flowers from my stash and in the corner the brand new die from CLD "exotic butterfly large 3"(DL119) which is painted and decorated with puffy velvet pen.
Side 3 : The other wing of the large butterfly is appearing here too and to complete the scene, i've used a stamped image from Magnolia, flowers from my stash and the "Judy's blooms"(C184) die from CLD to get the leaf and the smaller flower under the big rose.
Side 4 : i created a little scene using a stamped image of a dog and grass from Magnolia, flowers from my stash. Here i decided to play with different textures so i diecut the "garden gate"(B124) in cork and fixed it with 3D pads. I cut the big flowers and leaves from "Judy's blooms"(C184) new die. Twice for the flower, in white paper that i inked and then in lace paper that i coloured with paint and ink to give shimmer. The leaves are painted with a mix of shimmer paint and distress ink.
List of material:
- shimmer paints : Creative Inspirations
- inks : stamperia marrone, colorbox dark brown, versafine black, distress in different colors
- paper : white Canson 240gr and watercolour 300gr
- dies : Cheery Lynn Designs
- stamps : Magnolia (dog + all the characters), Just rite (round sentiment), stampabilities (background text), Upsy daisy (decorating foliage)
I really hope that you liked it and will have as much fun with all those new dies from CLD as i did myself! And remember it is the last day for you to get a chance to win a 25$ shopping spree at CLD by leaving a comment on each post between 1st and 8th of may! Good luck!
Love from France, Kianel.
