Cheery Lynn Designs has released some fabulous new butterfly dies this month, 3 styles in 4 different sizes. Today I played with Exotic Butterfly Large #3 and Exotic Butterfly Medium #2. First using the largest die, I die cut 2 butterflies from black card stock. I then traced around the die onto a piece of 36# Vellum and cut it out about 1/8" inside the trace. I adhered the vellum to the back of one of my die cuts and then colored the openings in the die with Memento markers. Then I added the second butterfly die cut on the back. And here is the result........
To take this picture, I stuck the butterfly to my window so the light would shine through the vellum. Isn't it beautiful, it looks just like stained glass. I repeated the process with the medium version of the same butterfly but created a card for this one.
I added two Fanciful Flourish die cuts as well as Judy's Blooms and leaves. The great DP is from Graphic 45's Le Cirque collection. Look at the great dimension from the butterfly and the blooms. Finished size is 6" square.
Starting this Sunday, the design team will be using the butterfly dies for a week to give you an idea of how really spectacular they are. Then on May 22nd we will host a Butterfly challenge with two fabulous prizes. To enter you must use a Cheery Lynn Designs butterfly. The first place prize of a $50 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs will be voted on by the design team; the second place prize of a $25 gift certificate will be picked using Random.org.
