Happy Summer by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 4 Comments

Hi Cheery Lynn fans, its JULIE here hosting the blog today and I am sharing inspiration using some of the fab Nautical Dies on my card which could easily be adapted onto a Scrapbook layout.

My card measures approximately 6 inches square and I started by adding some torn Shabby layers to my card using Maja Design papers along with some cheesecloth, micro beads and lace.

My Doily and Angel Wing were added to the centre of my card with foam strips along with an accent of the Ships Helm.

My Lighthouse was cut out in 2 patterned papers to form the stripes and backed with cream cardstock. My Anchor I highlighted the chain with a bronze coloured Promarker. I added some shells and dried flowers to compliment my Starfish and Sand Dollar Dies.

Seahorse Card Set with Laurie Schmidt

12:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi everyone!
Laurie here today sharing a card I made with some fun Cheery Lynn ocean dies.
I love the cute seahorse family...for this set of cards I used 2 of them.

I cut them out of some alcohol ink background papers I made some time ago. It's a fun technique, you can find the link on how to do it here

You can see the awesome detail on the seahorse and starfish...I did distress the edges of the starfish and shell a bit. I also added a few sequins for a bit of bling.
For the top card I backed it all on some scallop rectangles, and the bottom I kept very clean and simple:

Amazing Summertime Card by Amy Voorthuis

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Good morning lovelies.
There are some pretty amazing changes on this team! We now have new dies every month and a blog hop to introduce the new dies. And we are pretty glad that you are following us in this wonderful process so please keep doing so. With that being said I would like to show you a card I made {lately I can't find the time to make layouts, but that will come after the summer time}.  Speaking of summertime, this card was made with that NEW collection by Maja Design - a surprise, if you visit my blog you could win that collection.

Amazing Summertime:
Behind the Quatrefoil I placed a piece of transparante sheet to make my card see through.  That gives such a nice effect and it looks like your card has much dimension. I am in need of that vacation break so badly.  I just need to work for another month {why does that sound so long?}.  This card makes my heart sing.....

Yesterday I was making flowers all day to use on my cards and layouts in the next coming months. I am totally hooked, so when I am off work later today I will keep going.  Wish me luck. On the picture below you can see how it looks with the see through part. Hopefully you are not getting tired of me using that collection.

Surf Shop With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi! Today I have to share this super fun 3D Surf Shop that I made using Cheery Lynn Designs Dies.
The shop is custom made out of cardstock and embossed. The dimensions are 4 x 5 inches and adding another inch to the sides for the peak. I cut the window out using the second smallest of the rectangles and then die cut the 2nd and 3rd smallest for the window frame in the front and the back.

Here on the side, I used the smallest die from the circle and then I placed the life savor in white and green over the opening. Of course I need some palm trees and a bit of grass on the bottom.

Here is the back view. It is hard to see but all the waves are layered 3 times, so it appears to look the same as it does in the front.

Here is the opposite side of the surf shop. I basically kept them the same.

The top of the shop using surf boards and tropical flowers. I cut strips to look like straw by fussy cutting every .25 inch, then I used my flower maker to curve the ends up for a tiki roof.

I closer view of the waves, seahorse, beach chair and beach ball.

The other side showing the surf board layered with a cut seahorse on top.

The bottom sea shells and starfish are flat in the ocean.

Under the Sea by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 5 Comments

Hi Everyone, it's JULIE here today and I am sharing with you an underwater themed card which would also look great on a scrapbook layout.

On the edge of my card I tattered my second layer with the edge of my scissors. Next I pressed the edge into my Versamark ink pad and heat set some Gold Embossing powder. My word Explore was also heat embossed in gold.

I used a mixture of foliage on the list below to give the look of Seaweed and Coral at the bottom of the sea. On my Princess Tree die I added a little Distress Stickles. My Starfish was shaded with ink and highlighted with a Fineliner pen, as was my Sand Dollar.

My Anchor was shaded with Copics, heat setting a little Distress Powder and a Patina powder for an aged rusty Look.

The detail on the Seahorse dies is incredible. I cut them out in patterned paper adding a little Stickles and Black Liquid Pearls to their eyes.I moulded the shape of them with my fingers for a curved look and mounted onto my card with Silicone Glue.

Finishing off with an accent from the Ships Compass

My wave edger, small shells and pearls.

We are having a blog hop tomorrow to showcase a wonderful New Release from Cheery Lynn Designs, there are so many new dies on my wish list !
So please stop by and you could be in with the chance of winning a shopping spree.

Thanks so much for stopping by today. Our Current Challenge is Red, White and Blue. I hope you get a chance to join in the fun to win a $20 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn.

Beach Box Card with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi everyone! I wanted to share with you today a beach box card using several Cheery Lynn Designs dies! This is my first box card and it was really was to fun to make. There are so many different sizes of box cards. This size is easy to place in an envelope to mail. It folds flat and is approximately 4 x 5.5 inches. There is a video on you tube by Meg Loven that is a tutorial on the base of the card. You can see it here. Thank you!

On the bottom of the box I used "victorian picket fence" with some "grass border 2" because I was thinking of the fence sometimes you see along the beach with bits of grass.

Here I used "ship's anchor" and I inked the chain in white. I placed a small sentiment on top. The "tiny flourishes" are throughout the box.

I also wanted to add some "starfish" So I made two in white and two in kraft cardstock.   Then in the center I used  "lighthouses" in kraft cardstock and layered white cardstock behind the window openings.

All the flowers are from "sweet william" and I placed pearls in the centers. The largest ones were using all the flowers and as I made them smaller I just cut some of the larger ones out.

The larger greenery pieces in the background are "fanciful flourish" and I cut them up and placed them throughout the few layers in the center.

One closer view of the center.
Hope you enjoyed my fun beach box card!

Dream with Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 2 Comments
Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today, I wanted to make a beach card for Cheery Lynn Designs. I recently was in Mexico on the beach and I truly love the sound of the waves. So, I'm dreaming that I want be back on the beach today. I used "wave edger", "sand dollar and starfish", and "seahorse" with some "clouds" dies. I stamped some seagulls to give a more beach feeling with the sentiment Dream. It is my serenity.
The beautiful "alpine flourish doily" is so whimsical. It seemed perfect for my Dream!
There are pop dots under several dies to finished this 4 x 5 inch card.
