Faux Iris Folding with Cheery Lynn Dies

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here sharing a Faux Iris Fold Easter greeting! In Iris Folding you generally start with the negative of a cutout shape...so in the case of my egg, you would have had an egg frame or an egg cut out of a rectangle. You would build your strips from the outside to the inner space. There are lots of tutorials on the internet, simply google Iris Folding.
For my project I did a reverse iris folding technique. I began by cutting paper into 1" strips and folding them on the half-inch line. I cut out the egg shape with my Nesting Eggs Die. I then glued down a square middle-ish to the egg. I then started on two edges of the square and glued down my folded strips alternating sides as I went. When I had covered the entire egg, I trimmed it around the shape and mounted it on a larger nested egg.
To complete my card, I layered the egg between a picket fence and some grass. A bunny and the happy Easter sentiment completed my card.
