Poinsettia Wreath and Team News

Before I get to today's card, I have some design team news.  Sadly we are saying goodbye to Dawn Lotharius, Debbie Sherman and Jeannie DeGruccio.  They have been fabulous team members and have given us amazing creations week after week.  We wish them all the best and thank them for all their hard work on Cheery Lynn Designs behalf.

And now we want to welcome our new team members.  First up is Joann Jamieson, you may recognize her from all the wonderful creations she entered into our weekly challenge.

Hi everyone, my name is Joann and I live in Nova Scotia, Canada.  I am married and have one son who is in The Royal Canadian Navy and is currently stationed in Victoria, British Columbia.  I am also lucky to have a very supportive husband who understands and supports my passion for anything paper and glue!  In addition, we have a cat named Squeaker who tends to drink water with her paw and insists on having fresh ice water!  I think she is a little spoiled...  She also has a weakness for ice cream but that is another story.  I work full-time but when I am not at my day job you can find me in my craft room.  As much as I enjoy card marking, I must admit that my "obsession" is with dimensional projects.  I like to think “outside the box”.  I also have a big weakness for paper.  Every time I go into a store I see more paper that I do not have and I am running out of room to store everything.  I have already converted one room in my house into my scrapbooking studio and am now eying the next room.  I am so thrilled and excited to be a joining the talented ladies on the Cheery Lynn Design Team.

Next we are thrilled to announce that Sandie Louise will be returning to our team.

I am thrilled to be working once more with Cheery Lynn Designs as part of their 2012/2013 design team.  My name is Sandie, and I live in Geraldton, Western Australia with my partner John, and we are older parents to a beautiful son, Jesse who is 3 in March, 2013. I am currently a stay-at-home-Mum with previous employment being law enforcement.   Creativity has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, and runs in the gene's with my Mother being an Artist.  My love of paper-crafting took place two years ago, and it has been a journey of enlightenment, that has continually evolved, with many new learning paths.   I enjoy pushing boundaries in my creativity, and attempt to step out of my comfort zone here and there, with my creative style leaning towards 'vintage', but not always.  I aim to be an inspiration to others, and of course create everlasting memories for future generations.

And to fill in our team, Sheila Lygo will be joining us; she has stepped in to guest design for us and we invited her to join the team.

Hi everyone, here are a few facts about me.. My name is Sheila AKA Doubtfiresmusing  and I'm a craftaholic. My particular downfall  is dies! especially Cheery Lynn dies.  I live in a small market town called March here in the UK, alongside John, my long suffering husband of 36 years. We have two grown up daughters who in turn have given us four adorable grandsons & one beautiful grand daughter.  I've been a crafter for many years now; tried my hand at most crafts but my favourite by far is stamping & colouring with my beloved Copic markers. I feel so honoured to be asked to be a designer for Cheery Lynn Design.

The new ladies will start with us next week.  Please make them feel welcome.  And now on to my card for today.

I was originally going to make a red and white poinsettia wreath but liked the look of the all white so much I saved the red for another project.  I began by punching out 6 white card stock flowers with my Poinsettia 2 die.  Using my embossing mat and stylus tool, I dry embossed the back side of the petals to give them a bit of curl.  I used dimensionals between each of the petal layers.

Look at how beautiful these flowers are in the closeup above.  I add some Holly Leaves and Pine Branches to fill in the wreath.  Finished size is 6" square.

Be sure to visit the Cheery Lynn Designs challenge blog for more inspiration and to join in on this week's Keep It Krafty challenge for a chance to win $20 to the store.
