Red, White & Blue Challenge and our Weekly Spotlight Top 3!

Hi and Good Morning everyone.

Wow! We had some wonderful entries to our 'Roses' challenge last week and so many to choose from it was really hard to pick just a Top 3, but this week we liked seeing (in order of entry):

Well done ladies, it was a pleasure visiting your blogs and seeing your fabulous creations! :) Please contact us for your Weekly Spotlight Badge to display on your blog.

Now for my card inspired by our new challenge theme this week of 'Red, White & Blue'.

I have often struggled with this colour combination until very recently, when I realised you dont have to go for the bright primary shades of Red & Blue, you can go for softer or darker shades which can compliment each other really well, so now I am quite a fan!

I hand stitched MME papers onto white bazzil card, separating them with the gorgeous Lace Light Deco Border which I then attached to a 6 x 6 inch square card.

I cut out 2 of the largest hearts in the Heart to Heart Doily set.  These are beautiful and intricate dies, and they cut so well I was delighted with the results.   The largest die was used to cut white bazzill card and the 2nd largest die was used on MME paper which I backed with another contrasting sheet to give it extra depth.

The centrepiece is the beautiful One Free Wish die, cut also on white bazzil card and the stars were cut out of just one of the accessories in the Build a Flower set.  I made the sentiment panel using the smallest of the Two of Hearts cut 3 times in card and paper and trimmed the edges off the offset heart.  This was quite a quick card to make, and I kept it quite simple as the dies really do all the work on this! :)

I hope we see lots of entries again this week, and dont forget our monthly prize is being drawn at the end of June for one lucky entrant to win a Big Shot Die Cut Machine.  The winner will be announced on July 2nd.

You have until Sunday to join in, so still plenty of time to enter and dont forget there is also daily inspiration from the rest of the talented DT over on our Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog.

I hope everyone has a smashing week and thanks so much for visiting today
