The Making Of A Sunflower

The sunflower from Cheery Lynn Designs is one of my favorite flower dies right now. Today I am going to show you how to make the most of your dies. So let's focus on how to make them come to life and look more realistic using the sunflower die.

1. First, cut out 2 of the sunflower dies along with the center using brown cardstock.

2. Brush a little ink along the edges of each petal using a burnt sienna colored ink pad. Its got a nice orangy-brown color to it. For the flower center, you can use any dark brown ink.

3.Pinch each petal with your thumb fingernail. This is key to giving the flower dimension and realism. You only need to do this to one of the flowers.

4. Now adhere both flowers together using a foam dot or some other dimensional adhesive. Make sure the flower with the pinched petals is on top.

5. Manipulate the flower's petals to give them have some movement. Add the brown center and place inked leaves under the flower. I used the leaves from the Judy's Blooms dies for this one.

There you have it! Here is my complete layout. Isn't my nephew just the CUTEST???
