Love is in the Air

3:30 AM 9 Comments
Hello! Jodi here today with a card for this weeks challenge! The challenge is to add a flourish.
I cut the base of my card using the largest of the Scalloped Circle Stackers dies, layered with the Classic Circle Silver Stackers. To add a touch of elegance, I added the French Pastry Doily. Staggering the Two of Hearts, and adhering with foam adhesive adds texture. Love Sentiment (the set of two, this is the largest) is layered atop the Sentiment Frame #2 is perfect any time of the year! Darling Daisies are the ideal dainty finishing touch. Foliage from Mini Fanciful Flourish, Small Leaves 2, and Wreath Strip. Be sure to enter for your chance to win the $20 shopping spree!

Thanks for stopping by!

Corner Medallion

3:30 AM 8 Comments

I just love the color combination of white, yellow and black; it is so clean and fresh.  I was inspired to make my card today by one of the winning entries from last week's Tickled Pink challenge.  Holly created a very elegant card by putting four corner dies together in the center of her card.  That made me get out all my corner dies and look at the possibilities.  Using one of the dies from the Lace Corner Deco I set, I created this lovely medallion as a backdrop for my flower.  I used my Silver Circle Little Stackers to cut the black circle for mounting the corner pieces.  For some interest, I added texture to the top yellow panel and the next black panel using my Large Circle Piercing Plate.

For my flower, I used 2 large, 2 medium and 1 small flower from my Dairy Strip.  Normally, I curve my daisy petals under, but this time, I simply dragged my fingernail across the top of the petal - from the center to the tip - and it created a lovely upward bend.  Finished size is 5" square.

Love with a Flourish

3:30 AM 5 Comments

I didn't make a card last week for Cheery Lynn Designs Inspiration blog, due to having the flu, but as I had started my card, and finished it for this week's challenge which is USE a Flourish.
For my card I used one of the new images by Krista Smith, It's perfect for Valentine's Day. Sentiment is from Magnolia, and I shaped the rectangle with some jagged edges.
I did the same thing for the edging around the image. She's been colored with Copics,Promarkers,Flexmarkers and I've used Viva Decor Pen for the little pearl drops.
In the right hand corner I've used one of the lovely corner dies from Lace Corner Deco B set.

I'm not sure what you call this style of card, I think it's a Criss Cross Flip Card, but I enjoyed making it and the size of it is 7.5 inches x 7.5 inches. I've added the Fanciful Flourish and the Mini Flourish One dies behind the image, ribbon from my stash. The lovely Kate Edger border along the two sides at the back.
Inside the flip card I've used three sentiment dies, Happy, Valentine's and Day. These dies are all in sets of two, so perfect for both cards and Scrapbooking.

Shaped Valentine's Card

I think seeing pink last week from all of the wonderful entries that we had at the Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge influenced me to share this delicate pink card with you today. And besides, Valentine's is quickly approaching so  you've got to use this color scheme! Right?

It is so easy to make a shaped card using Cheery Lynn Designs.  I used the largest die from the Heart to Heart Doily set (which is just a plain outline).  I scored my white cardstock in half, taped the die so that just a little bit extended off of the paper at the top, and ran it through the machine. Super easy.  Another thing to keep in mind when you are making shaped cards, is that the Angel Wings that come with so many of our dies, are great for lining up along a fold, to make a shaped base.

I cut the doily heart from pink cardstock, and glued to the base.  I love having all of the sentiment dies to mix and match.  Happy, Valentine's, and Day are all separate dies, so you can add others and have the greeting for about any holiday you might need.

I keep playing with our newest Build A Flower set, and for this card, I made an Anemone (that's one that is fun to say and make!)  I cut the Tropical Flourish into 2 sections, and framed the flower.  And....that leads me into the challenge that is up this week - Add a flourish.  CLD has so many flourishes, that I could not do without, and I'm sure you feel the same way.  So pull them out, and show us what you've got.  One entry will be chosen to win a $20 gift certificate to the store.
