Peace on Earth!

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye joining the fun of Christmas in July! I LOVE crafting for the holidays and have to start in July to get it all done! Today I made a holiday tag with the shuttered window die...using it as the inside frame of a window looking out onto a winter scene. I used the two "caps" as a decorate window treatment and window sill. The little trees are ready to be decked for the holidays and the banner reminds us that it's a time for peace.

I DO Believe in Fairies! I do! I do!

3:00 AM 4 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye sharing with you one of my favorite holidays!!! It's International Fairy Day! I've created a fairy cage with an upcycled pimento jar, some crafty moss and Cheery Lynn Dies!

Quilled strips became "rocks" an the lollipop fringe a small bush in my cage which currently contains a butterfly friend

Cheery Lynn Dies used

The lid was created by stacking circles and flowers and trimming the edge with Allison's Ribbons!   Now it's ready for a fairy friend!

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed my project!

Girl with a Red Balloon..

5:28 AM 3 Comments
Hello all you Cheery Lynn Fans and welcome to your Sunday Inspiration, Tamara here with your daily dose of Doilies, Flourishes and Flowers..
If you are running late you still have time to enter our Challenge over on Cheery Lynn Challenge Blog .  The theme is.... EASTER.
If not, we will have a brand new theme starting tomorrow (Monday)
Here is a list of the up and coming challenges and themes
Mar 18 - Think Spring
Mar 25 - Celebrate
Apr 1 - Back to Nature
(bug/butterfly/bird, etc)
Apr 8 - Anything Goes
Apr 15 - Pretty in Purple
Apr 22 - Mother's Day
Apr 29 - Bling it Up
May 6 - Lots of Layers
May 13 - Dry Embossing

In Cheery Lynn's last die Release they brought out some cute mini labels.  These labels worked out brilliantly of a banner.  I strung them together with a little bakers twine and added some of the mini butterflies which I have inked with faded jeans Distress inks.  You can't see the sheen very well on the photo as they have been sprayed with some glimmer mist too.

Here is a close up view of the other butterflies that I have used and that gorgeous Victorian Picket Fence.  For the fence I painted with Tim Holtz Picket Fence crackle paint, distressed with a small amount of Antique Linen distress ink.  The grass at the bottom just adds to the effect..

On the other side of the card I used Judy's blooms to create a small flower which I have shaped using a large embossing tool. To the centre I added stamens from Build a Flower #3. You can just make out the twirly things coming up from the flower they were make using the quilling strip die. Check the bottom of this post for the links to all products used to create my card.

Here's a close up of the image I used from Saturated Canary called Balloon Wishes.  In the picture below you can also see the hearts boarder that I used.  I die cut it first then ran it through a crimping machine a few times then distressed using DI's

Love Actually - New Year Inspiration

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Good Morning, Tamara Here with my first post for Cheery Lynn Inspiration Blog for 2013. I can't believe that I have been with this fabulous design team for a year and loving every minute..
With Christmas and New Year out of the way the next celebration is..... of course Valentines Day.  Although it isn't a celebration as such, there is nothing like being in Love and receiving a card that has been created from the heart.
 Cheery Lynn Dies

Image 1   Image 1

I started with die cutting the Scalloped Square in the biggest size onto white card stock.  The first layer of design paper I cut using the biggest Silver Square.  This creates the perfect layer effect. The paper I used is a fab 6x6 paper pad from Prima which is perfect for doodling, so I added lines around the edges and around the flowers.. The centres I cut from one of the papers from the pad, painted them with rock candy crackle paint to add a shine and a different texture..
The image is of course Magnolia and is from last years Sweet Crazy Love collection.
She is coloured with copics
R29, 27, 24, 22
T8, 6, 4, 3
E11, 21, 30, 00, 000, R20
E44, 43, 41
Here is a close up of the gorgeous Sweet Williams flower die.  I die cut two of each die, distressed using inks and shaped to create some depth.  In the background you can see the build a flower #1, I have used the petals as leaves.. These have been sanded to create a distressed look. Weathered Wood and Black Soot distress inks have been used to colour the petals.  I have also added some glimmer mist for a tiny bit of sparkle..

In this picture I have painted the sentiment with rock candy and distressed with black soot. Also you can see how I have used the expandable quilling strips as twirly thingies. These have been distressed with DI Fired Brick and Black soot.
This is the inside view of my card I kept it simple so the die cut layers stand out more..

and this is the back of my card with my personal stamp which I brought from Whimsy stamps a few years ago.  Cheery Lynn LG Scalloped Circle and Silver Classic circles using dies number 2 are a perfect fit for the stamp this just adds that professional touch.
Did you know that Cheery Lynn has two blogs one for all your inspiration (this blog) and one for all the challenges.. Challenges are every Monday with a prize of $20 coupon to spend in the Cheery Lynn Store for the winner
.  Our very talented and fabulous design team post 7 days a week so you wont have to look far for inspiration on using Cheery Lynn Dies...
