Popup Surprise Match Boxes

3:00 AM 4 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here sharing a fun Pop Up box with the match box dies! To create these you need the matchbox, a spring (I borrowed mine from a dried up click pen), something to "spring up", and some embellishments.

You create your matchbox and embellish with some dies or a bow and a bead pull for the drawer.

You will need to "adhere" your spring into your drawer and to your popup image. I embedded my spring into some molten emboss enamel. This worked to hold it in place. A thick bodied glue like E6000 would also work. Once the spring is in place, add the image to the spring.

To create your popup surprise, fold the spring down and position your popup in place. For added festivity, you can place glitter or confetti inside to pop out when the box is opened.

I hope you enjoyed my project! It's a fun favor for Halloween parties!

Anything goes with a Matchbox!

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Happy Tuesday everyone! leslierahye here with a fun a project for the Anything Goes Challenge. I 'm using the medium match box die to create a box for a mini book that I created with the French Flair die! I LOVE these little boxes! I can't wait to make more!

Cheery Lynn Dies used
Tiny Flower Kit (Set of 3) - B376
Mini Fanciful Flourish - B117S
French Flair - Classic LG Stackers Nesting Dies - XL-12
French Flair - Scalloped LG Stackers Nesting Dies - XL-13
Alison's Ribbons - B335
Miniature Rose - B152
Medium Rose - B154
Flourish Leaf Strip - B178
Matchbox Medium (Set of 2) - B329

To created the mini book I die cut out a scalloped French Flair out of watercolor paper that was half as wide as the matchbox. That way when it is folded in half it it will fit I then . I cut pages for the book from copy weight paper. The small French Flairs were folded and trimmed and glued together on the cut edge and placed in the covers. The cover was watercolored using Derwent pencils.

all elements of the box and flowers were created with the water color paper. I love the effects you get by watercoloring one side of the paper and dabbing the back side for a hint of color. Dew Drops and watercolor completed the center. All surfaces were hand colored with Derwent and water.

The mini book in this matchbook is perfect for your wee notes , secrets, passwords...whatever small item you need to keep up with!

Thank you for stopping by!! I hope you enjoy my card!

Matchbox Giftbox

3:30 AM 6 Comments

Hi and Good Morning, Alison here today :)  I hope everyone is having a great week so far!

This week I wanted to show you how quick and easy it is to make a gorgeous wee gift box out of the Cheery Lynn Designs matchbox dies.

I used the largest Matchbox Die set for this gift box, and cut out 2 pieces in matching double sided 12 x 12 patterned paper.  I assembled the box quick and easily, as all the folds are embossed and it just all falls into place so well! :)

I then decorated the sides of the box with  Sophias Heart border, and the Forever sentiment.

The top of the box is decorated with the matching Sophias Heart Mini Doily, and I made the flower from one of the new release floral strips Gardenia.  I held this together with a pearl brad and added some olive green leaves cut from the Rose Leaf Strip.

This was such a lovely gift box to make, and so easy too, I can see lots of uses for this die and all the other sizes to make a set!

All dies used are:

Thanks so much for visiting our blog today, and I hope you find time to enter our challenge this week where our theme is Silver and/or Gold.

Have a smashing week,
