Happy Halloween

3:30 AM 0 Comments
A warm Hello to you. Glad to see you here. It's Debbie from Debbie's Time Out hosting the blog today. We are into October so thought I would play with some of Cheery Lynn Designs Halloween dies. This would make a nice cover page for a 8x8 mini album.

I started by using some black Halloween  paper with spider webs om it and matting it with green paper.

I used the new Happy Haunts  die set  for the sentiment and the Spiderweb Die   for the top corner. The witches hat and boots are from the  Witch's Laundry  set.

The Twisted Tree  is one of the new dies just released. I hung some of the Witch's Laundry   in twisted tree as well as a ghost.  I have always like the Home Sweet Home Die  and so I layered it on the bottom corner.

I hope you have some time to play with the Halloween dies. Halloween layouts and cards are always fun to make and they do make people smile.

Thanks for visiting the blog today and for the comments you leave. Have a wonderful crafty day.

Halloween Trick or Treat Fun by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 2 Comments

Hi everyone it's JULIE here today, I hope you had a lovely weekend and managed some creative time. Today I am sharing some more Halloween inspiration using many of the amazing Halloween dies Cheery Lynn have.

My Witches Cauldron was cut out in black cardstock adding some Vintage photo Distress powder at the edges to give a rust effect. My flames and logs were cut out in White cardstock and coloured with Copic pens adding some Glossy Accents onto the flames.

My cute little Witch was cut from the Trick or Treat Border layering her with a foam pad.

My hills were die cut from my Stitched stacker die, I then fussy cut the shape of hills and highlighted the stitching effect with a black pen, distressing the edges and adding some black soot Distress ink.

My house I layered Orange cardstock behind to give a warm glow, layering on with foam pads and a spooky ghost behind. My stormy sky was created with inks and a cloud stencil.

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope I have inspired you to create a Halloween scene on a card or Scrapbooking page.

Good luck to everyone entering our Bi-Weekly Challenge for a chance to win a $20 spending spree.

Crafty Hugs,

Happy Halloween with Jenny Alia

3:30 AM 0 Comments

Hi, it's Jenny posting today with a Halloween card inspired by this week's challenge.  I've been having so much fun with all the new Cheery Lynn Halloween dies from the July release!  To make this card I began by cutting three large squares out of white and purple card stock.  I colored the smallest piece orange with distress ink.  After the distress ink dried I cut a circle out of the card stock with one of the small circles from the  Circle Classic Silver Stackers.  I then used the Square Stitching Tool to cut the stitches into the largest and smallest square for added texture.

I then got to work on the fun elements.  I cut the Home Sweet Home haunted house out of a dark gray card stock and backed it with purple for a spooky light inside.  I think this would be really neat to do with neon green behind too.  Then I glued the house down and then glued two Ornamental Gates side by side.  I cut the bottoms of them so they wouldn't be as tall.

I sponged a little gray ink over a piece of white card stock and then glued it behind the orange layer.  The two bats from the Bat Family die were popped up with dimensional foam adhesive.  Last I added the cauldron from the Crafty Ann Halloween Set 2 and glued the Happy Halloween sentiment from the Happy Halloween Twiggy Wreath die set.

Thanks for visiting and I hope you can join us for this week's Halloween challenge for a chance to win a $20 gift certificate to Cheery Lynn Designs.

Tombstone With Lisa Blastick

3:30 AM 1 Comments

Hi, Its Lisa back this week with a new and easy card to make for Halloween! I used only 2 pieces of plain cardstock too. I wanted to make something for this week's challenge "Things With Wings", I thought, why not bats! LOL I have seen a few tombstone shaped cards out there and I thought again...you don't need a special diecutting machine. All you need is a large circle diecut from Cheery Lynn Designs. I used the largest of the "Silver Stackers" I placed just part of the diecut on top of my paper and ran it partially through the diecutting machine to give it the top curve. I did that in black and once again in grey, .25 inches smaller each time. This card was originally cut at 5 x 6 inches, and now it is bit smaller, 5 x 5.75

I added "Home Sweet Home", "Spooky Tree", "The Raven" from "Tomb Stone" "Bat Family" in black cardstock. The the smallest circle from "Silver Stackers" for the moon and 2 "Ornamental Gate" (partially cut off the bottom) in white cardstock. Lastly, I added a small sentiment and fussy cut it out and placed with pop dots on top of the "Spooky Tree" I love how the "Spooky Tree" and the "Home Sweet Home" small tree compliment each other.

A closer view, NO patterned paper...only dotted embossed grey cardstock.
Easy and fast to make!

Haunted House by Julie Lavalette

3:30 AM 3 Comments

Hi Cheery Lynn friends, it's JULIE here today and I am sharing with you another card using some Halloween dies from the Latest Release.

I started off by making my own background paper with stamps and inks, matting and layering on to my stacker dies. Next I cut out my Spiders Web in purple card stock then placed them on to the corners and added purple Stickles around the edges.

My orange mat I added a little Distress ink and went around the pierced holes with a white pen, layering on to my card with a little Silicone Glue.

My Home Sweet Home die I layered up twice and added some yellow card stock behind the windows to make them pop and I pulled the windows to an ajar position.

With layering my house twice it gave my tree some extra added dimension and popped the house forward on my card rather than lying flush to the card stock.

My Bat was cut in black cardstock and offset with some white. I stamped my sentiment in clear Embossing ink and embossed with extra fine white Embossing Powder.

My cute figures were trimmed out of the Trick or Treat Border and offset with yellow card again to make them pop on my card.
