I used Cheery Lynn Design's french flair which is such a great building shape as it has a nice outside shape that is decorative, but clean at the same time. I wanted to play with some lace edging. I staged it under my already cut circles and I knew instantly that I had to use it. This drove some later design decisions such as using the corrugated paper (an unlikely candidate normally) for building a dimensional flower and creating a flower center through repeatedly knotting the purple twine.
Another technique I used to help give it that shabby chic vintage like styling is using a die cut using the Cheery Lynn Square Deutschland Doily and carefully flipped it and removed only some of the outer most cutouts so it had a rougher more imperfect look when layered over the grey french flair. Perhaps others will like the end result. I almost want to just frame it as it is so layered and has a sturdier look than the average card, but someone should receive these well wishes!
