This and that with CLD dies and a small tutorial too

3:30 AM 3 Comments

My new circle card made for Passover  with Cheery Lynn Designs embossing, cutting and stitching dies, that were just  a great fit for our Passover holidays.
As we made an Exodus from Egypt- I used some Egyptian stamps here and we also call this Holidays  spring and freedom one- so flowers and colors are for spring, butterflies are for freedom.
The big stitched circle was  made with CLD Stitcher plate large Circle is a shape of the most expensive Matza bread and the square shapes are for the most common one type.
Those scalloped squares were made with Little Stackers Scalloped Square Nesting Dies, and then I added  2
French Pastry doilies-  the blue one was cut for a center circle only, and I also used this Frills and Hearts border die again- fantastic border  for any occassion.
And as always- the MUST adaptor plate - you need it, believe me, you just need it for better cutting- so go to our shop and  enter it to your shopping cart! And add some doilies, stackers and stitching dies too- the best one I ever used!
And now for a small tutorial I promised to you.
Take your border die- I used Scalloped Diamond Border one, some fine paper  strip, some glue and let's begin..
Folded flower tutorial
Step1. Cut a 1'' stripe from your favorite paper, die cut it with CLD  border die
I used this Scalloped diamond border die- but it can be any scalloped die from CLD shop

Step 2. Take the cut strip and begin to fold  like an accordion fold- do it about 1/4 '' mostly- I know it's a bit hard with a cardstock, but then your flower will be stable more than with thin paper.

Fold your strip as shown here

Step 3.Get yourself 2 cardstock flowers and add some glue over the lower one, then glue the ends of your folded stripe as shown, I didn't use dies for those flowers, I just got them from somewhere, but you can also use one of our flower small dies for those parts of a flower.
Layer  the flower over the glued flower and add another cardstock   glued flower over the top of your folds.

Step 4:Now go to your stash and find some nice button, big crystal or small flower to use as your flower center. Enjoy it!

Now try to make some of those flowers by yourself and show  them here. We really want to see what you can make  from all those fancy paper strip you have for ages and one of Cheery Lynn Designs border dies.

You Should Be In Movies

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Good Monday morning everyone! It's Tanisha here, with a super fun All About Me page. Anyone who knows me knows that I love going to the movies! There's nothing like watching a good movie on the big screen with some buttered popcorn on my lap and an ice cold pepsi by my side. When I saw the Saturday Morning Movies grunge embossing plate, I knew I just HAD to create a movie layout.

See the bag of popcorn under the photo? It was actually a gift card that my little sister gave me for Christmas. I knew I would eventually get to use it. The movie tickets are from some of the movies that I've seen so far this year. I used one of the Little Stackers Coved Rectangles die to die cut the movie tickets. I painted them with a Luminarte paint dauber so that they'd better match the layout.

I mixed the School Days Font (and negative space) with stickers to create the title. I embossed the Saturday Morning Movies using Core-dinations cardstock and then sanded, inked, and swiped with paint to further add to the grunge look.

here's a close-up of the tickets.

Below is a list of items used to create this layout. Click on each photo to locate the item in the store.

Thanks for stopping by the blog today!!

Card-Makers Stackers Nesting Dies

3:30 AM 7 Comments
Cheery Lynn Designs Card-Makers Stackers Nesting Dies help make perfectly spaced rectangles for cards and I know I've said it before (but it's worth repeating)... I just love the embossed edge they create on the die cut paper too! The Lattice II die coupled with the Card-Makers Stackers Nesting Dies made creating this masculine card quick, easy and fun too, despite the fact that creating masculine cards often poses a challenge for me.

Directions to Create This Card:
  1. Create a 4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch card base from white cardstock.
  2. Using the Lattice II die, die cut a piece of red cardstock and adhere to card base.
  3. Using three differently sized Card-Makers Stackers Nesting Dies, cut one rectangle from three different coordinating patterned papers. (note: for this card, I adhered each of the patterned papers to a piece of white cardstock that I cut from the same size die to make them rigid for popping up on the card with Pop Dots for added dimension).
  4. Wrap coordinating ribbon around two smallest rectangles and adhere.
  5. Adhere rectangles of patterned paper using Pop Dots as shown on card.
  6. Die cut red cardstock circle from Classic Circle Little Silver Stackers Nesting Dies and adhere to ribbon.
  7. Die cut white cardstock from Classic Little Stackers Nesting Dies, stamp sentiment and adhere to red circle with Pop Dots.
Other supplies used:
Cardstock, Stamp and Ribbon: Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper: Cosmo Cricut
Ink: Ranger

Arts and Crafting with your Pet Frog

3:30 AM 4 Comments
Now there is a TITLE!
Good thing it is APRIL FOOL'S DAY, right?
I am not about to craft with any reptile!
Today I have a fun project to share.
Hoping to really inspire you all to think BEYOND paper!
By now, you all know I love those Veggie Tale guys, right?
Today I am going to show you how simple it is to take a plain, ordinary outfit and turn it into something really EXTRA-ORDINARY!
Here is my starting items;
A plain white onsie & a $2.00 clearance skort from the neighborhood K-Mart.

With some bits and pieces of felt and material...

...and the Bob the Tomato metal die...

look what you can make!

My ever handy sewing machine does letters.
I just punched my title in and voilà, instant messaging!

Now, I have to admit, I am one of those people who have the greatest hopes to think of something that will make me millions on ETSY, or something like that.
Here is a close up of the onsie for this outfit.

Bare with me, my hopeful "self" got away with me and dreamt up a bunch of future scenarios.
If I find the time to mass produce these, here are some cute alternate messages I could put on the onsies, but these are "Photoshop-ed" shhhh! Don't tell anyone!

HOLD THE MAYO!

GOT BACON?
(for the non vegetarians:)

FUTURE VEGAN
For my surrounding counties.

VEGGIE PRINCESS
For my 4 year old!

So, there you have it, my future million dollar maker.
Think I have a chance? Let me know what your favorite sayings are!
If you want to special order...well I'll get back to you on that one!

This has been Jeannie showing you creative ways to use your CHEERY LYNN DESIGNS dies on more than just paper!
