Hippity Hop...The Easter Bunny is on it's Way

Good Morning Everyone, Donna here with a card I’ve made using the new Cheery Lynn Designs Easter dies that were released in February.

On the front of my card, I created a nice egg for Tilda to sit on, by using the Easter Nesting Dies (largest one) for the back, and then also for the front, but with the front I created a cracked egg, so it only covered half the whole egg, the inside of the egg is another of the nesting Easter eggs, (second from largest). The front of the egg was raised up using silicone glue, then Tilda was also mounted using silicone glue.

I’ve used the Queen Anne's lace border die to go around the outside of the egg to give it a lacey effect, and attached pearls. The middle border across the card is the Wedding Garter Border die. The two corners were cut using the Dainty Dutch Deco die. I’ve also cut out and attached two of the Dimensionalbuttons 3. The flower is a combination of the Sunflower die, Judy's Blooms die and the medium roses die, with a pearl in the centre. The leaves are from the Japanese Garden Lace Oval

The inside of my card has the English Tea Party Doily Die with a Circle in the centre. I’ve used one of the new Easter Lace Egg #7 over top of two eggs using the nesting eggs dies, and of course easter wouldn’t be complete without a CHOCOLATE bunny….Mmmmm . He comes with the nesting egg dies too.

I hope you enjoyed seeing how versatile these egg dies are not just for Easter but for anytime of the year to make a lovely frame behind your images.

Sweet By and By

Hello! Jodi here with another layout of my great niece. Isn’t she just the sweetest?!

To the left of the photo, you see the Japanese Garden Lace Oval layered with the Stackers Nesting Oval - Scallop. A collection of beautiful Lace Corners have been added to the store. Have you seen them?! They are absolutely gorgeous and very versatile! Here I dressed up my scallop oval by adding one from the Lace Corner Deco C set to the top and bottom. I just adore the loops and swirls of the little doily from the center of Dutch Scallop Square Frame, but rather than use it in one area, I cut it into quarters and strategically tucked them into the layers.

To create my flower, I cut 4 layers from Stacker Flower #3. I lightly brushed the edges of the petals with Glimmer Mist, then curled and folded each petal for a more life-like feel. I adhered the layers staggering the petals as I went. One layer of Cuties #1 was assembled for the center of my flower. Once complete, I added leaves from Stacker Flower #1 and foliage from Olive Branches atop the Fanciful Flourish. I also added a Miniature Rose and leaf from Small Dimensional Leaves #2.

To the right of the photo I have placed a couple more pieces of the doily from Dutch Scallop Square Frame. Lace Light Deco Border dresses up the edges of the top layer, while 2 pieces of Anastasia Border are placed back to back down the center of the top layer. With such an adorable little face, I just had to add Two of Hearts, using the larger heart as the base for my chipboard sentiment. I tucked a few leaves from the Dimension Small leaves #2 set and adorned with one of my favorites dies…Exotic Butterfly Mini. The Border Carnivale boldly lies across the bottom of the layout defining the feel of the entire layout.

Easter Die fun

We are getting ready to have our new release party soon, but thought you might like to see what is in store for you.

I am using a TON of dies today.

Even though these are EASTER dies, look what you can make...a hot air balloon!

I used the FRENCH PASTRY DOILY & ANGEL WING to go along with our current challenge which is DOILIES. You can read about the challenge here.

Other dies I used are:

LACE CORNER DECO F - for the leaves on my flowers on the basket.

DANCING DOILY LACE BORDER - the white paper lace.

DOTTIES RIC RAC - the lighter brown ric rac piece.

FLOWER CHAIN BORDER - flowers on the basket and on the yellow border chain with flowers.

BLACK EYED SUSANS - the embossing plate for the brown background paper.

I am pretty sure that is all the dies used.

By now you should know that I love thinking of unusual things to do with shapes meant for other things. The reason I do this? I love to show you just how much you can do with dies and supplies if you just think...outside the "Easter basket!"

Tutorial - reflection dies - Kianel

Hello dear friends,

Kianel here today to share a tutorial with you on how to get endless possibilities with your reflection dies. This tutorial can apply to any of the shapes or designs rectangle, coved rectangle and square.
Please do take a look at the fantastic videos Mike did for the store.

Let's work here with the Horizon coved rectangle mega doily die. So you have your reflection dies and i am going to show you how to adapt the dies to any size you want.

I made this card for a monthly card kit i am DTing for here in France and used the beautiful dies from Cheery lynn Designs to make all the diecuts.

I used the mini pearl square mega die to create my structure using this samle technique to adapt the size to my card. Cardmaker's stackers are always a must for me on this type of card combining layers.
I also used the Horizon coved rectangle mega doily die to have under my stamped image. On the right side, under the bow you can see one of the 2 of hearts die.

And here is a close up of the clustering with a mix of premade flowers and handmade flowers with Cheery Lynn Designs dies. I used the medium rose and the miniature rose dies to build my flower. Under the premade flower, you can see the biggest of Judy's blooms and also the leaves that come along that i decorated with ink and some sewing marks. The tropical flourish is also there to adornate the flowers.
Papers are from "Fab Scraps", cute stamp is from "me to you" and is colored with Promarkers.

STEP 1

Cut your Horizon coved rectangle mega doily die in your paper. I used the size 2 of the set on that example.

STEP 2

On this picture you can see where the die would be placed to get the full size and that my paper is smaller than that.

Step 3

Move your die up so that all the details of the die match the details of your already cut paper. on the picture you can see the blue line on the die that marks the actual end of the first cut on the paper.

Here is the final result, same frame but smaller. Using this technique you can pretty much choose your own size for all your frames. It works with the reflection dies rectangle, square and coved rectangle because they have straight sides and you can match the die and the pre-cut paper. Make a square out of a rectangle, make a rectangle out of a square, etc...The possibilities are endless, litterally!

Now it's up to you to create all your frames and have fun with this technique, and always have the perfect size!

Pomander Balls

Hello and welcome back.

Does this remind you of your Nanna?

A pomander, from French pomme d'ambre, i.e. apple of amber, is a ball made of perfumes, such as ambergris (whence the name), musk, or civet.^[1]The pomander was worn or carried in a vase, also known by the same name, as a protection against infection in times of pestilence.

For both of the balls I only used the smaller die of the Judy's Blooms set. I just wanted to show that you can create lovely items with very few dies. Until you can afford to splash out (wouldn't that be nice!), you can still do a lot of creating.

To make these pomanders, all you need is a styrofoam ball, a bit of ribbon or lace and some pearls or brads for the centres. I just cut multitudes of the small flowers from Judy's Blooms, placed one on top of another and glued them into place around the ball. I inked the edges and glimmer misted all the petals and then spritzed the whole lot with water and lavender essential oil, (for the purple one and water and rose essential oil for the pink one.).

Every Time You Smile Card, and Flower Tutorial

Hi Everyone,

The new Reflections Boutique Series of dies by Cheery Lynn Designs allow so much scope in creativity. The system of each set allows for the user to determine the length of the die cuts and of course the set comes in a variety of sizes, and numerous patterns. The Reflection Boutique Series I have used on my card is the Royal Coved Rectangle Mega Doily. The whole series can be found "HERE".

For card-makers the dies can be placed on smaller machines, with cardstock folded in half to create decorative edged card bases, in varying sizes. Another use is for making tags, which I will show you next week. Or, they can be used for making frames for photographs on layouts or on cards as I have done so above.

Mike has completed sevearl videos on these wonderful die sets. The Reflection Boutique Series can be viewed "HERE", and the workshop video can be seen "HERE".

For this weeks card, I have also completed a tutorial (which can be found under this post) on the Darling Daisies flower (above and below), and also a different way of creating leaves using the Cuties 4.

The flower (above and below) was created using the Sunflower die. Five layers were cut from the actual Sunflower die. Each of the flower bases I painted with Creative Inspirations Paint to leave a beautiful shimmer. Creative Inspirations Paint is sheer, so applying a light coat allows for the beautiful paper beneath to still be seen. If you wish to cover the paper beneath, just add a few more coats of paint. The best part is the paint dries quickly, so there is no major waiting times! I was able to ink my edges straight after painting all my flower pieces.

The Sunflower was constructed with 4 layers for the base. I used glossy accents (very small portion) to adhere each layer together - making sure each leave is staggered from the one beneath. The remaining Sunflower die cut was turned upside down and the petals rolled inwards using a skewer (the petals are rolled inwards, from being upside down, so that the painted side shows when petals are rolled in). Adhere to base of Sunflower, then adhere the centre of Sunflower to the middle (this hides the inside of the paper as your flower is upside down). I placed several pearl pieces to the centre of my flower, but this isn't really necessary as the die cut centre piece is embossed.

The Dimensional Leaves and the tips of the Olive Branches were used to complete my flower. The Dimensional Leaves were also painted with Creative Inspirations Paint, then curled using a skewer to add a more realistic appearance. If you click on the photograph, it will enlargen so you can see the detail more of how I have rolled the leaves around the skewer. Edges were inked with 'Walnut Stain' distress ink. The paint seeps into the fine detail of the leaves, showing off the viens of the leaves ... is very pretty.

Inside of the card I used the Royal Coved Rectangle Mega Doily again to create a frame for the sentiment. The foliage of the Japanese Garden Lace Oval die was used to decorate. I added a hand-dyed silk ribbon to decorate.

Darling Daisies Flower Tutorial

You will need 6 petals from the Cuties 4, and 2 petals of each of the Darling Daisies flowers. Paint, and ink all edges if required.

Put aside the two smaller flower die cuts. Starting with the largest flower die-cut, adhere flower layers together, staggering the petals in each layer you add. Using one of the smaller petals, gently and only slightly roll the petals upwards and adhere to flower base (see above photograph). With remaining small die cut, turn upside down and curl each petal tightly around the tip of your skewer so that your flower now looks like the one in the photograph below. Adhere to centre of flower to complete flower.

Remove the petals from the Cuties 4 die cut as in the below photograph. Curl the leaf using a skewer from the tip to base (really squeezing the paper/cardstock up gives a wrinkle affect which is appealing to me). Also, curl the very tip up or down (do a variety it looks great). If you play a little with them in the 'curling process' you will be amazed at how a simple petal can turn into quite a realistic leaf. Tuck leaves beneath flower petals, using tiny glue dots to complete arrangement.

Spring is on it's Way

A good almost Spring Sunday to you, Donna here, back into the world of crafting, and so happy to be working with Cheery Lynn Designs again, using their fabulous dies.

On this card I have a few layers to go with this week's challenge LOTS OF LAYERS, don't forget it ends today.....you still have a little time.You can find all of the details HERE

I've used a new Sarah Kay stamp, cut out using the Oval LG Stackers Nesting Dies, then mounted onto the Kiwi Oval Frame. You'll notice I left all the bits in the frame, so it didn't detract from the Daisy Lace Frame underneath that. Plus alongside the edges of the Daisy Lace Frame I have used the Queen Anne’s Lace Border. I think it makes a beautiful border and frames it just lovely. I love the lace loops in the design. I’ve added some pearls to the middle of the loops, and paper pierced the oval, the Daisy Lace Frame edging and the edge of the paper.

I've also used a couple of the Small Exotic Butterflies (well it wouldn't be Spring without butterflies would it) I cut them out of some glittershine papers I've had for years. The flower is the Sunflower which I did in two layers of pink and white and used one of the dimensional buttons for the centre which I've tied some pink ribbon through. I've also used a couple of leaves and also the Lace Rose and Florishes underneath.

I've finished off the card with a sentiment using the silver stackers ovals and the scalloped ovals (smallest size)

Lots of Layers & Flowers

I was visiting blogs the other day for our Lots of Layers challenge entries and one lady's blog post really stayed in my mind. She was talking about Cheery Lynn Designs challenge and said "I can do layers."

I thought that was so cute, and she did do a fabulous job on her entry. I felt the same way about the challenge this week, "I can do layers, too!!"

I have used a lot of dies and I do have a lot of layers, so brace yourself!

To start, I took the FRENCH LATTICE SMALL cut it out in a patterned red, backed it with ad nice textured white and mounted that on a kraft card front. I added some machine stitching, because I think it adds a lot of flair to a card.

Next, I took the SWEDISH SPRING OVAL and cut it out in a patterned blue and layered that on top of the lattice.

The last time I used the FRENCH LATTICE SMALL die, I thought all those cut out squared would make a cute something, I just didn't know what. But today when making my card, I knew they would make perfect flowers and mini pinwheels.

You can see my finished card here.

I also used the basket from BUNNY IN BASKET, CUTIES 4, MEDIUM ROSE, DARLING DAISIES, LACE CORNER DECO D and DOTTIES RIC-RAC to complete this card.

The fluffy yellow flowers are made out of piece of tissue paper my 7yo brought home from school for me. I made the yellow flowers with the MEDIUM ROSE and layered them on one of the DECO CORNERS. The stems are made from DOTTIES RIC-RAC.

The mini pinwheels and pinwheel flower are made from the leftover squares from the FRENCH LATTICE SMALL as I mentioned above.

Here is a close up of the fluffy roses.

The flowers in the basket are a combination of the leftover LATTICE squares and the DARLING DAISIES . Just by layering a lot of the squares and daisies, I was able to make these adorable flowers.

Here is one more look at my card that I am sure you will agree has LOTS OF LAYERS.

Girly birthday card - Kianel

Hello dear Cheery lynn designs lovers!

Kianel here with you today to show you a girly birthday card i have made for the last TOMIC challenge and the actual challenge here at Cheery Lynn Designs which is layers and using the fantastic reflections dies. Have i told you that those dies are amazing? The possibilities are just endless and next week i will share a tutorial with you on how to extend the possibilities of your reflection dies so stay tuned!

So here is the card i made:

Many different layers on this card. The base of the card is made using the XL square stacker combined with the Large silver square stacker. On the right side, you can see an exotic butterfly small decorated with pearls.

For the clustering i used the large rose die, the leaves from the Judy's blooms die. The pink tulle is a stacker flower #6 die that i flipped in 2 and placed under the rose.

One of the layers is made using the horizon coved rectangle mega doily (size 1).

A second layer is made using the beautiful Lace square heart mega doily (size 4). You can also see that i used the mini pearl circle mega doily (size 3) under my stamped image and the base of the stamped image is made using the Large silver classic circle stackers as a template. The patterned paper is cut using the cardmaker's rectangle stacker.

To build the band on the left side, i used the Mini pearl rectangle mega doily (size 3).

And you know how much i like to use the leftovers from my cutting so here i used the leftovers from the lace square heart mega doily and made a kind of banner around my image with them. I just added some pearls in the center of each little heart (those hearts measure approximately 6x5mm, super tiny but super cute!).

The cardstock is from Bazzill, the stamps from the brand new collection by Magnolia, the patterned papers are also from Magnolia, the colouring is made with versafine + distress + creative inspirations shimmer paints, all the embellishments are coming from a french online store.

I also wanted to show you a card i made for a monthly kit i am DTing for here in France in a vintage style and where i could use some Cheery Lynn designs dies:

On this card i used the following dies from Cheery Lynn Designs: Cardmaker's rectangle stackers, dimensional butterflies, olive branch and the mini pearl circle mega die around the vintage picture.

Little Girl Banner

Hello and welcome back.

This Wednesday I am showing you my banner. It was completed just before the weekend. I was very excited to be doing a banner, as I thought no one else had made one. Then to my surprise, Jeannie's creation came up. All I can say is, "Jeannie, great minds think alike" and I hope you like mine just as much as all the fantastic comments you gave Jeannie.

So here goes!

I started off with wooden off the page flowers from Kaiser and went about covering them with Sweet Nothings 6 1/2 paper pad also by Kaiser. Starting with the Dainty Dutch Deco Frame, I cut the middle out and used that for the middle of each flower. On top of the flower are bling alphabets with small wings just underneath. The edges of the flowers are covered in pearls. The flowers are made up of the Miniature Rose, the Cuties 2, the Darling Daisies and the Stacker Flower #1 Leaf. Finishing off with ribbon and binding them all together used pink links.

Decorative Purse Container

Hi Everyone, this weeks Cheery Lynn Designs project is a creation I can use on my work desk for all my pens, rulers, and odds and ends. The purse is a wood kit made by Kaisercraft, and stands at 6 inches tall. I adhered gorgeous My Minds Eye papers to the inside and outside. As this project is going to be used I did not decorate any of the sides or back - just highlighted the front.

I have many favourite Cheery Lynn Design dies.... but the Lace Rose and Flourish has the most adorable swirls, leaves and curls. This die can be cut into smaller pieces to decorate, or used in one long flourish. As you can see with my project I cut my pieces to 'fit' my project.

The flowers were created from tissue paper, and the Scalloped Window Stackers. You can create a variety of flower sizes using the Scalloped Window Stacker dies and various paper mediums. All I did to create the two on my project was cut multiple layers of tissue paper, from the varying sizes of each die. Each layer was crunched up in my hands to 'crinkle' and a brad put through the middle to hold each layer together. I separated some of the layers to give a little more dimension. On the smaller flower, I wet a few petal edges with water lightly and curled the edges in slightly.

The leaves I used for this project are the Judy's Blooms die set, which comes with the flower and leaves. Also, Pine Branches were added to give a little more character to the flower. AND, I just had to place a Small Exotic Butterfly onto the project .... I so love them!

To complete the project, a small amount of stickles was applied to highlight the die cuts.

Winter Sunshine

Hello! Jodi here today! How’s the weather in your area? Being from Minnesota, I can say we have had an exceptionally warm, snow-free winter! However, the days have been a bit cloudy and dreary lately so I thought I would bring you some Winter Sunshine!

The base of the card was created by layering the largest Stacker Nesting Die-Square Scallop and Silver Stacker Square Classic. Next, the Dutch Scallop Square Frame cut from a sunshiney yellow!

The details on this lacy frame are just pronominal! Again, layers from the Stacker Nesting Die- Square Scallop and Silver Stacker Square Classic using a middle size die are stacked atop. Don’t you just love the dainty doily in the center? It is the center cut of the Dutch Scallop Square Frame….two gorgeous doily cuts in one die! Framing my sentiment is the smallest die from each set of Stacker Nesting Die Circle Scallop and Silver Stacker Circle classic.

Dressing up the corner of the frame is a flower created from the new Cuties 1 with foliage from Stacker Flower #1 and Pine Branches.

Unique Springtime Banner

Today I am using the LACE OVAL REFLECTIONS die to make a unique banner.

To start out I cut a lot of ovals from the largest die in the LACE OVAL set.

I use the Sizzix Big Shot and I can still use the largest die, by folding my paper in half and cutting the shape. I will have a fold line down the center, but for this project, that doesn't matter.

Here you can my folded ovals, cut, still in half, and then I scored the ovals at 1/2" increments.

Here are the same papers, opened up at their full size.

Can you believe how big those are and that I cut something that big from a Big Shot?

Once again, here the oval has just been cut, the paper in folded down the middle...

...voilà, here the same paper from above has been opened to it's full size, it's like magic!!

I am making 2 different shapes for my banner. To make the flower shaped base, I need 3 of the largest ovals.

Here they are cut, and scored at 1/2" increments.

Here the same ovals are, folded accordion style on the scored lines.

Fold the accordion folded ovals in half.

Hot glue the centers of each oval.

Then hot glue the 3 ovals together, they will look something like this.

Fan the outer edges open to meet each other on the other side and hot glue the remaining edges to form the flower shape.

The other banner shape I created is a butterfly shape. For the butterfly you will need 2 ovals, folded, scored and glued in the same manner as the flower shapes.

Because we I only have 2 ovals, when I flair the ovals around to glue, the ovals create this butterfly shape instead of the flower shape.

To string all the shapes, I cut a paper towel tube up and glued them to the back of each shape.

After embellishing the fronts, I strung 2 layers of tulle through all the shapes to create the SPRING banner.

To embellish the fronts, I used the SWEDISH SPRING OVAL in the centers of each shape.

I had some large letters that I used to spell the word SPRING and then added lots of Cheery Lynn Designs flowers from The Floral Shop.

All the bright and Cheery paper is from Momenta.

I just love all the colors and patterns!

Booklet card - Kianel

Hello dear Cheery Lynn designs lovers,

Kianel here with you today to show a booklet card i made using Cheery Lynn designs dies. I also used the Diamond Card Craft scoreboard to create the structure.

The base of the card is square but i used the french flair stackers to make a cool opening. The french flair doily stacker adds an amazing elegant touch to it and then the printed paper is cut using the large silver french flair stacker.

I used a tag that i embossed with the dotted swiss embossing plate. I then cut out the two of hearts die and used the large one that i slightly inked. I then decorated with a pearl bucket and an exotic small butterfly die.

I used the Heart key die that i inked, stamped with a text and finally embossed in clear and tied up together with the ribbon.

And the card when it's opened:

On the inside, i also used the french flair doily stacker and then the large silver french flair stacker to coordinate the paper.

The little heart is coming from the two of hearts die and used together with an embossed exotic butterfly small. Under it, i added a tropical flourish die.

I used the Judy's blooms die that i colored with ink and shimmery paints. In the center of the bloom i tied up a button die from the Buttons 3 dimensionnal dies set.

There you can see the details of the Circle lace Mega doily die from the Reflections Boutique. See that i sewed the details of the die, pretty cool isn't it?

The papers are from TOGA, the shimmer paints and embossing powders are from Creative Inspirations paints, the dies are from Cheery Lynn designs, the stamp is a Whimsy Stamps.

Number One Fan!

Hello and welcome back. Celeste here with you for another Wednesday.

Today I want to show you a card I made using the Eazi-Score, that Phyllis from Diamond Card Craft sent to the Design Team members a little while back.

I used the score board and instruction booklet to make this Bouncy Card.

I started off using purple card stock to make the card. Next I used some patterned paper to put on the bottom of the card and in the square. I cut out the Folding Fan from the same card stock as the main card and then used a shimmering purple to go over the fan itself. One flower using the Large Rose and Cuties 2 dies was used at the bottom. Lace Corner Deco A were used for the corners on the square of the card, while two of the other Lace Corner Deco A were used for the stand of the card.

To add some "greenery", the Olive Branches were popped in behind the flower. On the stand of the card I used the Small Dragonfly with Angel Wing in one corner and the Darling Daisies in the other.

All Grown Up

Hi Everyone, this week for Cheery Lynn Designs I have created a mini canvas (6" X 6"). The photograph is a recent photograph of my two grown up daughters, Amanda and Tayla at Aldinga Beach, in South Australia.

The base of the canvas is corrugated cardboard, which I gessoed, and distress inked (Black Soot) to achieve a corrugated iron appearance. Maybe I should have added some silver, but I'm happy with the results. The photograph base was cut from the French Flair Classic Stacker Series. Beneath the photograph is the Spiderweb which I brushed lightly with stickles to give a shimmery appearance.

The flower and flower buds were created using the Judy's Blooms die. I cut two die-cuts of each die, misted lightly the petals with water, and curled the leaves using a kitchen skewer. After assembling the flower, the curled edges were inked using Victorian Velvet distress ink, and a pearl added to the centre. The flower buds were created using single cut petals from the Judy's Blooms larger flower die cut - the green bud casing was created using the leaves from the Pair of Ferns. The foliage consists of the Fanciful Flourish, and Olive Branches.

Several brass charms were used from my stash. I adore the detail in the bee and spider! Stickles was applied to the outer edges of the flower petals, buds, and butterfly - just enough to highlight the applied distress ink. Stickles tends to really draw out the colour of distress inks.

..and one of my very favourite dies - it is one that introduced me into Cheery Lynn Designs, the Exotic Butterfly Small.

Gift Card Holder

Hello! Jodi here to day with a fun gift card holder.

My card is based around the Italian Flourish Doily Angel Wing.

I determined the size of the card by cutting the base the width of my angle wing, length = 11 inches long.

To shape the end of the card, I placed the scallop of the angel wing to the tip of the cardstock, cutting the die ...don't fold or score yet! TIP: It helps to tape the die in place preventing it from shifting and altering your cut. I like to use blue painters tape as the adhesive is more forgiving on your paper and your die. Also, once removed from the paper and die, just attach it to you machine and you can use it again for your next cut!

Once cut, I trimmed ¼ inch from each edge up to the diecut to achieve more of a rounded top. I proceeded to score the card at the edge of the cut, fold the rest of the card in half and score again.

Time to decorate. On the outside, I folded the Italian Flourish Doily in half decorating both front and back. I also added an Exotic Butterfly Mini.

On the inside layers of the Stackers Nesting Die Square-Scalloped and Silver Stacker Square-Classic hold my sentiment.

To create the pocket, I cut my piece 2 ½ x 3 ½. Using a Scallop Window Stacker, I cut a notch into the piece. Add adhesive only around the outer edges of three sides of the piece and attach to create the pocket.

Floral Beauty

Today I am using more of the New Release dies.

I have made this colorful floral card.

I love using the reflections dies that I have for cards. I used the Reflections Scalloped Oval to create the background. After I cut out 2 different sizes of the oval, only using the die as a 1/2 cut, I ran them through my Big Shot using the Wittle Wicker to emboss the 1/2 oval shapes.

I then cut some of the Mini Flourish Ones out in black and made my own rolled flowers with Judy's Blooms as my flower base and some Scalloped Oval Stackers for my rolled flowers.

I added some Lace Corner Deco B's as the final touch.

Use the left overs...- Kianel

Hello dear Cheery Lynn Designs lovers,

Have you checked the new dies that were released yesterday? Oh my, absolutely stunning!!! And what a bunch of spectacular projects my DT mates made yesterday, amazing!

For my today's project, i made a card using the great new dies. And i will also show you other ways to use the gorgeous lace corners that Cheery Lynn designs released yesterday.

I made the base of my card in an A4 cardstock using the score board from Diamondcardcraft. I then used the largest size of the Kaleidoscope lace mega doily to put on the top of the card.

To make the circle on top of my card's structure, i used the XL circle stackers and the Large silver circle stackers that i decided to adornate with some left overs. As you can see on the picture, i don't usually throw away the small parts remaining from the die cutting. Using one of the dies from the Lace Corner Deco D set, i started cutting out from paper. I then used the left overs of it to use as a kind of lace around the circle shape, and i have to admit i really love the effect.

To build the big lace flower, i used the Lace corner deco D that i sprayed with glimmer mists in 2 different colors. I added a pearl stamen in the center and voilà! Pretty cool, isn't it?!?!

There you can see the close up of the flower combined with the Stacker flower #6 that i cut out in pink tulle and some pieces of the Mega fanciful flourish. The decoration under the stamp is the middle part of the Dutch scallop square frame die.

To build the small roses i used the Medium rose die and Miniature rose die and sprayed them with glimmer mists. The lovely rose buds are made from Miniature rose die.

Remember this flower using the stacker flower #6 ? you can find a tutorial here. I used it on this card, combined with the Lace corner Deco D die, a piece of the Mega flourish two die and a piece of the Mega fanciful flourish.

The intricate design of the Kaleidoscope lace mega doily die, makes it easy to simply use a ribbon and make a bow out of it.

Hi Everyone,

Happy Valentines to all. This week for Cheery Lynn Designs I wanted to showcase the Sweedish Spring Oval Frame - as it is so pretty, and I have not yet had a chance to play with it!

I used the My Minds Eye, Lost and Found "Market Street" collection of papers for my card, as the beautiful patterns did not detract from the delicate die cuts. The chipboard "Wishing You Happiness" is from Imaginarium Designs.

The rose from last weeks tutorial matched perfectly. I added some Olive Branches, pearls, and silk ribbon to decorate the front of the card. Inside, I added some Pine Branches to the flower which was made using the Cuties 3.

I framed the picture and sentiment using the Oval Scalloped and Oval Classic dies. The base of the card front was created using the French Flair Classic stacker series.

Shaping Up

Hello! Jodi here today, switching things up a bit with a mixture of shapes!

I started by cutting layers of Stackers Nesting Dies - Coved Rectangle Classic and Silver Stacker Coved Rectangle Classic out of Core’dinations cardstock….love that stuff! By choosing a Black/yellow combo cardstock, and lightly sanding the edges before adhering the layers, I was able to create a more distressed masculine feel to the card. After cutting the ducks with layers of Stackers Nesting Dies - French Flair-Scalloped and Silver Stacker Layers French Flair Classic, I backed them with the Dutch Scallop Square Frame. Although the frame is has a lacy cut, by cutting it in the brown it makes the duck layers pop and doesn’t feel feminine at all, don’t you think?!

For a little extra fun and texture, I embossed the top 2/3 of the tag with the Burble/Cheese Cloth Embossing Plate. I left the sentiment portion of the tag flat.

My Heart Flutters for You

Hello! Jodi here today with a card inspired by this weeks challenge, Red and White.

I created the sentiment block using Nesting Dies-Scallop Square layered with the Silver Stacker Square Classic. A butterfly from Exotic Butterfly Mini rests nicely under my sentiment.

Using a butterfly from Exotic Butterfly Small #2 as my focal point, I layered it atop the largest heart from Two of Hearts. Olive Branches creates great foliage around the butterflies as well as flowers!

I added the Fanciful Flourish as well…one of my favorites! Three Miniature Roses adorn the flourish. Completed card is 5x7.

One of a Kind with Cheery Lynn Designs

The reason I have called this a One of a Kind card is that if I tried to recreate it exactly like this, I couldn't.

While at CHA this year, with Cheery Lynn Designs, we were across from a company that had all these fantastic ideas that I wanted to try! So, sorry gals, you are my guinea pigs, so to speak.

I am trying my ideas out here!

I created this card from the die called Folding Fan.

Behind the fan I have pleated the paper that the fan sits on. I was able to do this very easily using the

Easi Score from Diamond Card Craft. It comes with an idea book and pleating the paper was one of the ideas in the book.

I have tried to take a picture in full sun to show off the pleats.

I am using Authentique Paper's Splendid line. I thought it was perfect for the overall feeling I was trying to create.

I used each fan piece as it's own canvas and drew a different design on each panel.

On the inside I used lots of fun things, starting with the Embossing Plate I used on the blue paper called Black Eyed Susans. I love using paper with white core, it just looks so lovely when it is sanded.

I also used the Lace Edger and the Zig Zag Ric Rac dies. The small fan on the inside I made with a small Scalloped Circle.

I love the layers and dimension on this, I hope you have enjoyed this too.

Kianel here with you today to share a new card with you. This one has been a challenge i gave myself because i wanted to give a shot at a clean and simple style (which, as you might have noticed, is not really the style i am used to, lol) and here is my 1st attempt.
The purpose was to give space to the marvellous embossing plate "hearts / flowers" that Cheery Lynn Designs carries. This design really spaeks for itself and i used to colour the debossed side of the paper with shimmer paints.

I only added the Anastasia border with a ribbon and the exotic butterfly small that i decorated with pearls. The base of the card is the XL coved rectangle stacker and i played with layers.

Here is a close up of the colouring on the debossed part of the paper. To get this result i used the large embossing pad.

Hi every one and welcome back. Celeste here with you for another Cheery Lynn Designs Project.

For a long time I have wanted to dress up a Tissue Box. I finally found one (from Kaiser) and got to work. I hope you like it!

First I covered the whole box in neutral tones and then started with the borders. For the borders up the top, I used the Lace Light Deco Border and for the bottom with ribbon threaded thru, I used the new release Country Girl. Up on top I used the Queen Anne's Lace.

Next the foliage came along. This was the Tropical Flourish and Olive Branches. I cut these out and inked with Tim Holts inks.

The flowers were made up of the Miniature Rose, Large Rose and Cuties 2. These were put together and placed on the corner and two sides to look like a trail of vines and flowers. The Exotic Small Butterflies were added to the two sides.

Four Different Flowers - Tutorial

Please Note: This post is graphic intensive.

I love making flowers! So this week I have created some flowers using a range of different Cheery Lynn Designs dies, and created quick tutorials for all 4. It is important to remember, that any of the Cheery Lynn Design dies can be used to create these version of flowers, the results may vary from flowers photographed, but still just as beautiful.

Leaf Flower #1

Requirements: Stacker Flower #1 (Leaf) and Snowflake 5. Crystal Embossing Tool which is available from Diamond Card Craft. You will also need a set of 3 flowers from the Darling Daisies die. Mini Mister either with water or glimmer mist, adhesive, distress inks, brad, cardstock.

1. Cut out 3 or 4 Stacker Flower #1 depending on how full you wish your flower to be. I used 3. Cut one Snowflake 5 for the base of finished flower.

2. Ink all edges to your liking. On a foam mat (mouse mat works well) use a skewer to impress the centre of leaves - this is where your brad will go when flower is constructed.

3. Mist all of your leaves/petals and while the leaves are damp, roll using a skewer. I find a skewer the best as it is a small size.

4. Allow to dry in the leaves newly formed shape - see below photograph.

5. Cut a set of 3 flowers from Darling Daisies die in varying colours. Turn each flower upside down on your mat, and using your embossing tool curl each petal upwards. Remember, your flowers are curled upside down.

6. When all flowers have been slightly curled, turn right side up and press a skewer or small ended pen into middle. This is where your brad will sit.

7. Adhere carefully (I use Glossy Accents for a quick dry) the 3 flowers together as below.

8. Start assembling your flower together. Three small Darling Daisies first, then the 3-4 Stacker Flower #1, and your Snowflake 5 at the base. Once assembled, fiddle with the petals of your flower to get them how you would like them to sit. *see photo below.

9. I adhered small pearls onto the ends of each snowflake point to give the appearance of small buds.

Stacker Flower #1 (Leaf)

Darling Daisies

Sweet William Flower

Requirements: Sweet Williams die, and Stacker Flower #4. Distress Ink, Brad, Adhesive, Cardstock, Shimmer Paper.

1. Cut 3 large Sweet William petals, 3 small petals, and 1 Stacker Flower #4, ink edges.

2. *see photo above - Fold each petal in half and then each half again in half, the opposite direction - much like a fan. This is fiddly and time consuming, but the results are worth the effort.

3. Assemble the 3 small Sweet William petals together, adhere making sure each petal layer sits neatly between the other petals - in other words, leave no gaps. Do not adhere petals one on top of the other, make sure you adjust so petals sit over 'vacant' area between petals.

4. Repeat for 3 larger petals.

5. Place glue into centre of larger petal base flowers, add smaller petals and press firmly with the end of a pen into middle.

6. Pressing firmly raises the petals upwards and helps form the fullness of the flower. *see photograph below.

7. Add the Stacker Flower #4 to base of flower, thread through the brad and secure. *if you do not have brads, you could always adhere a pearl to centre, as the adhesive keeps the flowers together as you construct each flower anyhow.

Stacker Flower #4

Judy's Blooms - Flower 3

Requirements: Judy's Bloom, Snowflake 6, Darling Daisies, Cardstock, brad, distress inks, skewer and pearls.

1. Cut 2 of each petal from Judy's Blooms, and the middle sized flower from the Darling Daisies.

2. Use a skewer to roll each petal as shown in above photograph. *please note: each petal from each die cut has been rolled in two different directions. Base petal is rolled downwards, next upwards. Repeat for smaller petals.

3. Adhere larger petals together, so that the rolled petals interlink between each other. *see photograph above. Repeat for smaller petals and add the medium Darling Daisies petal into centre of smaller petals.

4. Adhere the two layers of petals together, pressing firmly in middle with end of a pen.

5. Place brad through flower, attaching the Snowflake 6 to the base - add pearls to each point if desired.

Rose

Requirements: Miniature Rose, Medium Rose, Large Rose and Snowflake 5. Crystal Embossing Tool which is available from Diamond Card Craft, cardstock, paper, glue and distress ink.

1. Cut a range of petals for your rose from the Miniature Rose, Medium Rose and Large Rose. How many petals you wish to add, depends on the fullness you wish to achieve.

2. Use a mouse mat and embossing tool to curl your Large Rose petals. The larger bottom layers are created by laying petals upside down on matt and embossing so that when the right way, the leaves are curled downwards. Repeat this with several of the Medium Rose petals.

3. Adhere the petals into 'doubles', making sure you have the right sizes together. *see above photograph. For my rose, I used 4 large petals for the base, and adhered two medium petal on top of of the larger petals. This creates the 'base' of the rose.

4. Curling your medium rose petals the opposite way - upwards, start layering on top of your flower base to the fullness you desire.

5. Using the Miniature Rose, cut 2 petals from die cut and roll to form a bud. Adhere the remaining petals around the bud, to complete the centre bud. *See photograph above and below.

6. Carefully adhere your centre bud into the middle of your constructed rose base to complete your rose.

7. Remove longer portion of Snowflake 5, as pictured below. Adhere to base of rose.

8. Fluff the petals when glue has dried to how you like your rose to look.

Hello Cheery Lynn Fans,

Today I have a layout to show you! Again with a picture from Mister Wilson when he was a little boy..
I scrapped it on a kraft cardstock.
I used different chipboard accents & the title is made with thickers.
Im sure you noticed the lovely doily.. thats made with the; French Pastry Doily I just love to use this doily.. so pretty with all the little details.
The butterflies are made with the Exotic butterflies small die.
In the corners of the layout I use 2 pieces from the Lace Light deco border..
Then on the right corner of my photo underneath the flowers there is a lovely swirl that is made from the Victorian Romance Flourish

Sweet Banner

Hello! Jodi here with you today. I want to share a banner I created for CHA. To make sure that you are able to see all the details as well as the dies used, there are a few photos. If you bare with me, I promise it will be worth your while! Remember, you can click on any photo to enlarge it.

The base of each section was created by cutting the English Tea Party Doily in half and covering the center of the doily with a scallop circle from the Stackers Nesting Dies-Circles Scalloped.

I began the “S” section, by adhering the large heart from Two of Hearts using foam adhesive. A Large Rose along with leaves from Small Dimensional Leaves #2 and Stackers Flowers #1 adorn the heart. To the side I added Olive Branches, embossing the leaves.

The “W” is backed with Stackers Nesting Dies Circle Scallop, atop the center part of the Nautical Wheeler Doily…two gorgeous doilies in one die! An Exotic Butterfly Mini garnishes the lot. Notice the little rose buds?! I created them by using only two or three diecuts from the Miniature Rose.

For the first “E,” I used the center of the Polynesian Sails Oval (again, two beautiful dies in one!) topped with a scalloped circle. Another butterfly from Exotic Butterfly Mini embellishes the grouping, but this one is embossed with Tim Holtz Distress Embossing ink and Distress Embossing Powder to give it a different look and unique, aged texture. The flower was created using two staggered layers of Cuties #2.

Again, I adhered a large heart as the backgound for the second “E.” To create the key, I cut Heart Key out of cardboard from a cereal box. Yes! The dies will easily cut through the box!! Custom made chipboard…cheap and effective! You gotta love that!! I brushed a combination of Ranger Distress Paints across the key. Once dried, I rubbed it with Distress Ink to bring out the crackle and give more of an antique feel. The flower is from Miniature Rose.

And finally, the “T” is backed with the center of the Polynesian Sails Oval and a scalloped circle propped atop a section of the Victorian Picket Fence. I used two staggered layers of Cuties #3 to create the flower The bud was created using two layers of diecuts from the Miniature Rose. Leaves from Large Dimensional Leaves #2, as well as Stacker Flower #1, and Olive Branches provide foliage.

The Never Ending Card

Hello there everyone...It is me Jeannie with today's Cheery Lynn Designs post.

I am still recovering from going to CHA with Cheery Lynn Designs. I had a blast and got to work with Cherry Lynn Designs owners, Mike and BJ Dywan, their graphic designer Viktor, and the delightful duo, Jan and Pam.

Cheery Lynn Designs was well received and I think the company had a wonderful show, it seems that everyone knows about Cheery Lynn Designs! Hooray!

Today I am sharing a project that I have entitled the Never Ending Card. Why? Well, I made it how the pattern said to, but I just kept adding things.

Here is the front of my card, can you see the border? That is made from strips of the Cuties 3.

Inside the cut out square, I have the Sunflower and Ladybug showing through.

Here is a side view, the rest of the card is stored inside.

This was a very fun card to make.

The brad disguises a small piece of Velcro on the opening tab.

Here is the next level of the card.

This is so bright and colorful, I only embellished her hat and 3d'd everything else. I used the Pretty Petal die to add dimensional flowers to her hat.

Here is the inside to the above card.

I made a pocket with another level to pull out.

Again you can see I used the Cuties 3 and the Pretty Petals to embellish the patterned papers.

This is the portion that you pull out and this houses the final part of the card.

It is a small tag that says Happy Birthday.

I have used the Fanciful Flourish, Pretty Petals and the Scalloped Squares for the tag.

Here are all the pieces..lots of pieces to make this a fun card.

All the graphics for this card are from a wonderful book I have by Mary Engelbreit. When I ordered it, I had no idea it came with a CD that has all these graphics on it. I will never run out now! Hooray!

I hope you have enjoyed this, I was mainly trying to show that you can use the Cheery Lynn Designs dies to make something very cute, just a notch cuter! I never tire of using these dies and it seems I am always finding new ways to use them

Butterfly and Floral Basket

In the current issue of Rubber Stamp Madness in the Product Spotlight section you will see a wonderful article about Cheery Lynn Designs. This basket is in the article and many people have asked what dies I used to create it. I began with the largest of the XL Scalloped Coved Rectangle Nesting dies for the basket shape. I die cut 4 pieces of kraft card stock as well as 2 pieces of chipboard. I embossed the Kraft paper using my Daisy Garden XL embossing plate, then sandwiched the chipboard between the Kraft paper. This makes the basket quite sturdy. To the front panel, I added Polynesian Sails Oval. To create the oval panel in the center of the Polynesian die, I traced the fallout then cut it just a bit larger. I embossed this piece with my Diamonds and Starburst XL embossing plate.

Next came the flowers, these are a mix up of Miniature Rose, Medium Rose, Judy's Blooms and Cherry Blossoms. I added leaves created with Large Dimensional Leaves 2 and Fanciful Flourish. The last addition was the butterfly from the Exotic Butterflies Small #2 set and it's matching Small #2 Angel Wing. Finished size is 7 1/4" x 5 5/8".

Hello dear Cheery Lynn Designs lovers!
Kianel here with you today presenting a butterfly card that i decided to make using orange and brown colors for a change.

The base of the card is made using the XL oval stackers (size 6) combined with the Large silver oval stacker to cut the printed paper out. The inside frame is made using the size 3 of the same dies. On the right side you can also see a piece of the tropical flourish die.Under the lace is a ribbon eyelet border with piercing that i cut in half. All around the base i have placed the Queen Anne's lace border that is so alike lace!!! I loooove it! You can also see that i have used the leaves from 2 different sets that i inked with distress to enhance the embossed parts, dimensional large leaves set #2 and dimensional small leaves set #2.

On that card you will also find another way of making a flower using the frangipani with leaves die. This one is made of separate petals so it's even easier to build your own flowers using the same technique as the one i explained last week, but this time you'll need a small circle to glue your first level of petals on. To finish the flower i added a bunch of stamens and voilà!

The small flowers i made using a little brown rose and the miniature rose die that i inked with distress. There i also added a piece of the tropical flourish die.

I used the exotic butterfly medium #2 to give wings to my stamped image and coloured it with shimmer paint. The stamp is a Sugar Nellie, the papers are from Echo Park, the colouring is made using distress inks, the shimmer is given by the creative Inspirations paints.

Mother and Daughter

Hello and welcome back. It's Celeste here with you for another Cheery Lynn project!

Today I have a surprise for you. My daughter Amberly created a card with my Cheery Lynn Design dies, and this is her creation!

She found the silhouette of one of my dies, the Fanciful Flourish. She asked if she could use it and together we cropped and put it on white card stock. I asked what she would like to do next, and she chose to use the Darling Daisies. She even new what to do with them!

Amberly then decided that she was going to put the rub-ons in the corner, and that it was good the way it was. Don't you love the simplicity of children? She is going to give it to her Nanna, who is in a nursing home.

Now onto my project.

To keep it in theme with Amberly's project, I decided to make a card too!
I saw this image on a free vintage stamp site and knew I wanted to use it. It is not a traditional scene to use on a card, but I loved the colours and the style.

Using the new Swedish Spring Oval Frame, I cut it in half and put half on the front, and the other half on the bottom of the easel card. Doing this also helps the card stay upright (or open).

The using the Cuties 2 and the Miniature Rose dies I cut the flowers and popped them on with the Olive Branches tucked just underneath. I added the pin, using the same colour theme.

Baby Boy, Brag Book

Hi Everyone.. This week for Cheery Lynn Designs I have created a "Baby Boy, Brag Book". I was reading a thread on a forum recently about how difficult it is to make a baby book for a boy, as you cannot add flowers. Well, for me personally - I add flowers, I just make them "BLUE"!!

Due to the length of this post, I will not go into the nitty gritty details - just wondering if nitty gritty is an Australian saying, so will explain it means 'small details'.

Close Up of Medium Rose

Above is a close up of the Medium Rose, which is constructed by rolling the middle, and building up in layers. You can make them tight, open, or however takes your fancy. I will do a tutorial soon on how I do my roses, as it seems all of us DT girls do ours differently.

The flowers on Page 1: The large flower with button, being made from the Cuties 4. The smaller white flowers are from the Flower Chain Border (I just removed flowers from border), I included the medium sized Darling Daisies in the middle of each - they replicate stamens. The tiny flowers are the inserts to the Snow Flake Edger Border die. I really like those inserts, they could have 'many' uses when making flowers!

Page 2 below, I embossed the cardstock using the Black Eyed Susan Embossing Plate.

Page 3 and 4 (above and below) I have used the Cheery Blossoms and Dimensional Leaves.

Page 5 (below) I used the Roses and Leaves Embossing Plate. I love the beautiful detail I manage to get using the Cheery Lynn Designs Embossing Plates, in conjunction with the Embossing Kit!! The French Flair-Classic Series was used to create journaling areas.

Page 6 (above) includes the Medium Rose, constructed more in a flat manner and not 3 dimensional. I just used an awl to round the leaves on a computer mouse mat.

Judy's Blooms, and the Stacker Leaves on Page 7 (above), I always double the layers of the die to create more volume.

The flower on Page 8 (above) was created using the new release Fransesca Border die. To create a flower like this, all you need to do is score at regular intervals over the whole die cut, and fold like a fan. Adhere the two ends together with a strong adhesive, and push down to form flower - adhere to the smallest circle in the Scalloped Window Stackers Series.

Using Snowflake 6 to add a little character to my flower arrangement. Snowflakes can be used in so many other creations, besides winter or Christmas!
